He was just so much quicker than everyone else. The more I watch the more I am convinced of the doping allegations.

I agree. I started watching in 1991, and couldn't pull away, watching Pavel Bure every night... even listened to every radio broadcast when it wasn't televised, which was fairly common in those days. He was the most exciting player period. He brought it every game.

As did I. That would have been awesome. A fantastic video nonetheless. Thanks so much, op.

If you consider how many players approached professionalism then compared to now, and that Bure's father was an Olympic athlete, it's not so hard to believe. Bure was famous for his work ethic and training, where he likely did just that much more than most players. Having a strong genetic background as well really set him up for an impressive base to build such speed and power in his legs when he worked out twice a day, six days a week.

Now, players not only hit the gym more often but have specialized diets and remove bad influences. Certainly not everyone goes that far, but more than a few top players are keen on getting that extra edge by attending camps like the one Gary Roberts puts on. It's harder now to get an edge by just being strong or having natural skill.

No amount of doping could have given Bure the control he had over the puck at top speed anyways - that was all skill.

If this team lets go of Sang he will burn this team next year.

Never saw him live, but have always heard that seeing him on TV could never really capture just how fast he was moving.

The Twins are kind of an opposite to this.
Without slow mo instant replay, I'm guessing we wouldn't catch 95% of the amazing things that occur when they score.

Bure Vid was awesome btw.
Thanks for not putting the terrible "bure bure" song on there.
Epic music for an epic player.
