This is way too difficult to predict. For all we know, some of our top end prospects could be complete busts. Same can be said for our 'lower end prospects' who could be a large part of our top six in the future.

I like the optimism, but your only somewhat accurate prediction would be Corrado. With the exception of Rodin, you have also nailed which of our prospects would most likely make it in the NHL. I'd sub in Mallet for Rodin.

Zack Kassian- 30goals 25 assists.( 55points)

Nicklas Jensen- 33 goals 30 assists (63 points)

Jordan Schroeder- 22 goals 28 assists (50 points)

Frankie Corrado- 6 goals 26 assists (32 points)

Alexandre Mallet - 5 goals 10 assists (15 points)

Jeez alot of people don't have much faith in Schroeder.

So are we gonna bump this thread in 6 or 7 years then?

Probably not, so it's kind of pointless.

Cause he doesn't know enough about Gaunce to know that he'll probably put up more points than Schroeder, Rodin, and Kassian.

Zack Kassian- 25g 25a 100+ pim

Nicklas Jensen- 30g 30a

Jordan Schroeder- 10g 10a

Frankie corrado- 10g 25a

Anton Rodin- 0g 0a

Brendan gaunce- 20g 25a

Chris Tanev- 5g 20a

Eddie lack- 2.40 gaa 920 sv%

This is the best list IMHO.

From the games I've seen him in this year I would not be surprised to see Rodin go back to Sweden after this season. He doesn't do enough to be an NHL player.

Schroeder may be better... I'd say he can be a 15-25-40 guy if he makes it which is still a toss up at this point.

Gaunce's ceiling is going to stay an unknown until he plays pro hockey. He may be a good 2nd liner or an average 3rd liner.

Edit: Corrado you have too much belief in though.

Zack Kassian- 35goals 30 assists.( 65points) 56 points / 30 goals

Nicklas Jensen- 43 goals 40 assists (83 points) 83 sounds perfect

Jordan Schroeder- 26 goals 50 assists (76 points) Sorry, I'm not that high on Schroeder; 75 in a dutch league

Frankie corrado- 11goals 20 assists (31points) :) Again perfect

Anton Rodin- 17goals 25assists (42points) 47 points 20 goals

Brendan gaunce- 25goals 30assists (55points) 65 points & 20 goals

Chris Tanev- 6goals 22assist (28points)

Eddie lack- 65 gp. 39wins 16losses 10otl (.925save%) I'll take this! (but I only project 14 wins as a backup)!

Add Kevin Connauton; 16 goals and 29 points as a PP specialist

I mostly agree with your assessment, although I would swap Gaunce's point totals with Rodin's and bring the goal totals down a bit for Jensen and Tanev. Tanev scored only 6 goals in 120 games in the OPJHL and 3 goals in 151 games split between the AHL and NHL.

So you're telling me out of 4 first round picks, our best prospect will only manage to put a 60 point career high?

Talk about being pessimistic...

Even Mason Raymond put up 53 points in his best season.

I'm not being pessimistic IMO.

Could one of them do better? Sure, why not? Is it more likely than not? I don't think so.

If any first rounder can be a 300 game player and average 50 points a year then you have done well as a scouting staff especially with later picks.

Edit: Frankly, of the four 1sts you are talking about, I don't think Schroeder is a likely NHL player on a top scoring line, I think Kassian can put up 50-60 as power forward and that's great, Jensen could be a regular 30 goal guy but it's unlikely he will be a 40 goal guy and Gaunce might, might be an excellent 2nd liner who scores 50-60. If 3 out of those 4 are correct then the Canucks will be happy.

This is the new NHL.... those aren't necessarily low totals.

Zack Kassian - 32G 39A - 71Points
Niklas Jensen - 41G 38A - 79 Points
Jordan Schroeder - 20G 27A - 47 Points
Anton Rodin - 10G 19A - 29 Points
Brendan Gaunce - 28G 40A - 68 Points
Chris Tanev - 3G 15A - 18 Points
Kevin Connauton - 7G 24A - 31 Points
Frankie Corrado - 6G 22A - 28 Points
Alexander Mallet - 15G 23A - 38 Points
Alexander Grenier - 18G 20A - 38 Points
Pathrik Vesterholm - 12G 14A - 26 Points
Bill Sweatt - 13G 11A - 24 Points
Evan McEneny - 3G 17A - 20 Points

so hard to say some of these guys won't make it some will get injured and we will never know what they could have been. I'd say that Gaunce and Jensen are our best chances at PPG, Kassian in the 50-70 range depending on who he plays with. Schroeder, Mallet, and Grenier all in the 30-50 range again depends on their role so much as the bigger guys have some versatility between checking lines and scoring lines. Our first rounder from this year will be good. Season or not :)

I would say you're pretty bang-on with most of them.

I feel Schroeder will never really excel in the NHL, so maybe a 40-50 point plateau for him is more realistic considering his size in a league which is becoming dominated by more physical, grinding play.

I don't see Rodin have much if any NHL success considering his poor play at even the AHL level.

Gaunce on the otherhand may end up being a Kesler 2.0, the similarities are striking so far.

I feel Tanev may hit 40 points if he keeps up his good offensive play so far and gets bigger and stronger.

Yeah I don't see JS getting 70 or even 60 points, but maybe more a 50 point two-way centerman.

there were only 30 30 goal scorers this season and only 55 60+ point scorers so if we can get a 30g 60pt guy with a #29 overall pick i will be very happy.

I'm kind of disappointed that no one chose Sweatt. He's had more NHL experience than half the guys listed. I'll put him down as a 40 point checker.

This is way too difficult to predict. For all we know, some of our top end prospects could be complete busts. Same can be said for our 'lower end prospects' who could be a large part of our top six in the future.

For a drunk bastard, that was a good post.

I mean, you can make predictions but they aren't educated guesses. Most, if not all of the people making predictions will be proven to be woefully inaccurate.
