Easy solution - the owner of the barbershop should hire at least one woman.

why are barbershops, which specialize in men's haircuts, suddenly required to cater to an entire new demographic?

Because we live in a society that is for equal rights for every person.

Where's this "suddenly" required come from?

he's not preventing the woman from getting a haircut, he's just not doing them there because they don't have the skills required.

Why aren't Ferrari dealerships required to service construction vehicles? It's an easy solution, they just need to hire at least one heavy machinery mechanic. Right?

she clearly went there on purpose looking for a lawsuit.

i'm sure it would be cheaper to go to supercuts, they couldn't screw that one up.

Please don't compare a Ferrari dealership to equal rights.

He's not doing them cause "it's against his religious principles".

I'm not denying that maybe she went there for a fight.
That's not the point.
He refused service because of gender - that's not right in this country.

an OBGYN once refused to take a look at my junk because I'm not a female. Should I sue?

Go ahead - if you want to get laughed at.
She/he) would probably sue you for sexual harassment - saying that she/he refused your sexual advances...

but he offers a service, one that could be critical and lifesaving (unlike that of a haircut), why is he not held to the same "equal rights" standards that a barber shop is?

how about "curves fitness" refusing to give me a membership to their gym? should they be sued too?

Or is this simply because his religion prevents him from cutting the hair of a non-related female?

Its ridiculous from a practical standpoint. However, their religion forbids this, and as nuts as it sounds she should respect his right to believe whatever he wants .

She doesnt have to respect HIM for his arcane belief system. I certainly wouldnt. But to SUE the guy over it?

Where does all this end? Sue everyone for everything . Sue feminist groups for not allowing men. Sue the black caucus or refusing white people. Sue Chinese people for not teaching everyone else Cantonese for free. They teach their children Cantonese for free.

At some point we have to call it what it is. An excuse to try to feel important via victimization for any reason whether it be reasonable or not.

It's called a reasonable expectation. I don't agree with the presumption at the end but everything else is spot on.

You understand what reasonable expectations are right?

there's reasonable expectation for a men's only barbershop to cut women's hair? that's news to me.

So she is complaining because she can't get her haircut by someone who obviously doesn't have a lot of experience cutting women's hair?

No it was my bad I don't know why I formed it as a question rather than clarifying that what DB was talking about was reasonable expectation.

Sorry...I don't believe a female would go to a barbershop for a haircut. She went there to prove a point.

This lawsuit should be thrown out just like that man wanting join a female only gym.

The real question is:
Why is a man opening a barber shop when he can't cut womens hair?

I'm pretty sure barber shops basically only do men. They're not... that good at cutting hair.

In Canada women have the same rights as men. I suggest this 'barber' move back to a Muslim country rather than force the will of his own culture onto ours. Oh and we should ban the burka too like France did.

If you like looking at statistics to determine who's better, you're just a casual fan.

2.41 season GAA isn't very impressive. Let's not get into playoffs and his SV%.

Cory Schneider is the next Patrick Roy.

This case is sweet because it involves racism, sexism, religious intolerance, gay rights, and human rights issues all at once.

All this could've been solved by the realization of the obviousness that males-only barbershops have the right to only serve males. This has been well-established over quite a few decades and honestly, she never had any intention of frequenting the establishment.

It is quite clear that Faith MacGregor is an attention-grabbing troll who is serving nobody but herself while attempting to ruin the classic tradition of the male barbershop. I hope she goes to hell.

Who said it was a "men's only Barbershop"?

Who said Barbershops are only for men?

Traditional?

It was "traditional" for Blacks to be at different schools and the back of the bus 60 years ago.

She's defending a basic civil right that makes our culture great. Canadians should not have their rights imposed upon by Muslims. Next thing you know we are bending over and dressing our women in burkas. Maybe stoning them too? I hope she wins the case and the barbaric barber is shut down. Don't try and drag us back to the Stone Age.

there are thousands of men only barbershops owned and operated by non-muslims, operating within our culture for decades.
