Everything Johnny Cash covers is good...

Some of my favourite covers from others though...

Pearl Jam doing Israel Kamakawiwoʻole's Hawaii '78

Rammstein's cover of Depeche Mode's Stripped

Celtic Thunder covering Mountains of Mourne (popularized by Don McLean)

(I couldn't find an official version on youtube)

Hurt's a good second, but in my mind no cover ever done better than Stevie Ray Vaughn's cover of Jimmy Hendrix's Little Wing.

No one in my opinion could make a guitar sing/cry nearly as well as SRV.

The Clash doing "I Fought The Law" made famous by the Bobby Fuller Four

Sacrilege to cover the Beatles but Aerosmith made this version of "I'm Down" their own.

Figured I'd throw in the worst cover of all time as well. Celine Dion and Anastacia (ummm who???) butchering AC/DC's classic "You Shook Me All Night Long".

Caution I am not responsible for cleaning up any vomit resulting from listening to this.

This thread was around a couple of weeks ago.

I picked Jimi Hendix's cover of All along the watchtower before.

I'm going to go with Kurt Cobain's cover of lake of fire.

To me The Blue album is one of many albums that covers are so hard to so successfully because you are use to the sound of a song delivered one way. It's hard to hear it and like it any other way. Here is my all time favourite Weezer song done acoustic and instrumental. They do it justice.

ha ha I am making my way through some albums and just listened to the Jennifer Warrens version of Love Hurts. It may have been her best song, but... the lp didn't make it to the end of one side.

^^that Gretchen version of Barracuda is true to the original!
