-AJ-
This will have a huge affect, as it would then be before the draft. It would probably affect the draft as well.

Shift-4
Yes it was brought up previously, 2 months ago. But they were proposing to change the start date to July 10th. Here's the article: http://prohockeytalk...ate-to-july-10/
goalie13
Now if only they could move the Cup final to May, that would be great!
D-Money
This will be really tough on the teams that play in the final. Then again, it will encourage teams to lock up their players sooner, rather than assuming they have weeks of downtime to get it done.

Provost
I suspect that it might move more like other leagues where there is a window of a week or two that other teams can talk to players under expiring contracts but can't actually sign them. The scenario where you have to make an offer on July 1st in a huge rush without ever being able to (legally) talk with that player beforehand is dumb. Dion Phaneuf
Say goodbye to RFA/UFA rights... * mainly UFA (we wouldn't have gotten the Isles 4th rounder for Ehrhoff, etc.) I like our current system. Canada Day is perfect IMO.
Xbox
If this system was always in effect, we would NOT be stuck with Keith Ballard
