Miller had good chances in front too, but Kassian's took the cake.

Noticed Lack is back to his old pads, wonder if he didn't like the new ones.

If this team lets go of Sang he will burn this team next year.

Rodin with 3 assists, Schroeder with a goal (and he was on the ice for 3 of our 5 goals).

Good game for those 2 and Sterling aswell.

Not to mention Tanev , who had two assists and was a +3.

He now has a respectable 6 points in 13 games as a shutdown D-man.

I think he is playing more of a two-way role.

But yeah he was good too, he is really coming on after that rough start, and now he has been one of our best, it's just a shame that were locked out, he deserves a chance at a full time NHL role.

I doubt even Tanev knows what role he's playing, what with Arniel switching his partners seemingly every 1 or 2 games. :P Still though, put him with anybody but Joslin and I'm happy.

Canucks would be smart to get Rodin around the Sedin's as much as possible. He has skill but could really learn allot under their watch.

Ya I agree if they could get him to play with them for even a quarter or half the the year at some point it would be rally good for him. He might end up like a not as good but really fast Sedin.

Agreed - he needs to build up his strength in a big way to prevent him from getting knocked around out there. He already has the speed and skill but needs more bulk to go consistently to the hard areas.

The funny thing is he already is pretty strong along the boards, and protects the puck well despite his lack of size and strength.

If he bulks up, he'll be able to have a really strong puck possession game.

Its good to see Schroeder become more consistent after a slow start. Canucks should look at signing Matheson as a depth defenseman, I think he has been the clear number 2 guy this season behind Tanev.
Sig too big.

Matheson is a career AHLer and the Canucks already have a ton of depth defensemen. Meanwhile, no season.

The needless penalty taken by Kassian in front of the opposing net, resulting in a game-altering power play goal against, brings back some bad memories involving Todd Bertuzzi. But unlike Crow, AV would bench Zack for quite a lot of time after that.

Cheap crosschecks to the back don't indicate toughness, Zack. Maybe we should get him to kill penalties so he has more appreciation in this regard. Or does he kill them already?

Schroeder is starting to pick the right spots to create consistent offense at this level. Good to see.

I have no problem with that cross-check. He's just gotta be more subtle about it, and pick the right time to do it.

How many times do our players get abused in front of opposing nets? We need a player that is actually willing to dish some out, to make them think twice about slashing and cross-checking our guys.

Just reminded me too much of the Bert penalty parade in the Minny series, but yeah at times i wish we'd dish out some pain more often. At least this one didn't cost the game.

Milwaukee knew they were screwed unless they drew a penalty. Players were diving whenever they got a decent chance and it was called at least twice last game. A penalty was later called against Milwaukee that was quite weak because the refs knew they'd been suckered into giving the Admirals penalties. Shoving a player to put him off balance before starting a race for the puck is a smart play that's been made in hockey since the dawn of time.

Cheap crosscheck in the back. Easy call there.

I think he could still use more bulk to help him withstand the grind over the course of a long pro season. It's good that he can protect it along the boards but I want to see him go to the net more, and for that some added bulk and strength would help him bag those dirty goals that he needs to start scoring.

Also the rematch against Milwaukee on Saturday is on Sportsnet IIRC - make sure to set those PVRs!

Don't forget, game Friday vs Griffins. I think it's your turn to make a GDT.
