avelanch
I figured that a lot of people would choose him, but other than the Brashear incident, I don't remember a lot of dirty plays from Marty. That's saying something for an enforcer. In fact, I think that overall, Brash was a dirtier player than McSorely was.
Hugemanskost
my vote is for connie madigan, played for portland in the old western hockey league. i'm trying to remember another fellows name. if he couldn't find any players to fight, he would fight his own teammates...ah yes, oggie oglethorpe. does anyone remember him. -AJ-
McSorely, Chris Simon, Marchment, and Marchand are guys who come to mind. Marchand might not be the worst yet, but he's workin' his way up there. EDIT: Some of Stevens' hits would be pretty questionable in today's game for sure too,
WHL rocks
Claude Lemieux was dirty but having watched Messier I think he was the dirtiest. The guy was nasty. There's a reason no one messed with Mess. Marty Mcsorley was not a dirty player.
RUPERTKBD
brash was dirty, for sure, but I don't know why people only remember the one McSorely incident. McSorley was a very dirty player when he was Gretzky's bodyguard. he'd do TONNES of dirty little plays away from the puck to ensure no one even thought about touching Wayne. If he was playing in today's NHL he'd be in the constant spotlight for his dirty play, instead of hiding in the background while Gretzky took all the headlines, and he'd be suspended every other game. Ghostsof1915
Chris Simon or Mark Messier. Matt Cooke gets dishonourable mention. Sean Avery is a goofball too.

ChuckNORRIS4Cup
Funny how Matt Cooke is now over looked, but he was a dirty player.

Smashian Kassian
Brad Marchand will be up there with all of these guys by the end of his career. He has only played two full seasons and he already has a bigger history than most of the guys in the league. Messier was dirty too, more so than he is credited for, it just goes by the way side since he was such a good player.
Smashian Kassian
Not Playing - Claude Lemieux Playing - Raffi Torres. Matt Cooke is up there, but he's seemed to be better (at last he was last season). Torres is dangerous and has no remorse for his actions.

thad
Marchment in my opinion. What a disgrace of a human being. He didn't have an ounce of honor and was on the ice with only one thing on his mind... To see how seriously he can injure someone.
