Toronto is basically set for the regular season.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Martin St. Louis (A) - Joe Pavelski (A) - Jarome Iginla ©

Tim Connolly (A) - Mikhail Grabovski - Justin Williams

Mike Santorelli - Cal O'Reilly - Mike Knuble

Boyd Gordon - Samuel Pahlsson - Adam Hall

Jason Garrison - Mark Giordano

Chris Pronger (A) - Mark Fistric

Dylan McIlrath - Matt Carkner

Roberto Luongo

Martin Brodeur

Top-6 is pretty unheralded other than the first line of MSL/Iginla. I'm hoping that reuniting Connolly and Grabovski will create some chemistry between them as former teammates. Bottom-6 is workhorse defensive group.

The top-4 defense pairings all have good two-way ability, while McIlrath and Carker provide grit and physical presence to the team.

We probably have the best tandem in the league with Luongo and Brodeur in net. No team has scored more than two goals against us in pre-season, and each netminder has a shutout.

Toronto Marlies aka. Team World

Phoenix 2013 Pre-Season Summary

Making the Jump:

Mikkel Boedker - With a standout pre-season performance, Boedker has won the job of Phoenix's second line left winger, playing with Vermette and Tarasenko to start the year.

Brandon Gormley - Brandon did not have an amazing pre-season, but that was due to inconsistent partners on defense. Hopefully his game flourishes with defensive partner Brent Sopel.

Spencer Machacek - Somehow beating out Dutch Demon Dale Weise and Sergei Samsonov (who's awaiting a pending trade) for the last spot on the fourth line. Spencer Machacek hopes to not suck.

Disappointments:

Jordan Schroeder

Alex Burmistrov

Chicago is a little disappointed with their bottom six/bottom pairing players. If the trend continues into the regular season I may look to switch things in the bottom 6 up.

On the bright side, Chimera and Bourque have proven to be competent 2nd liners after scoring nearly a point per game.

The Penguins are in tough to defend their Atlantic Division title after the Beavers, Devils, Flyers, and Rangers all made imrpovements this offseason.

After moving Evgeni Malkin this offseason the Pittsburgh Penguins would like to officially announce Joe Thornton as the new alternate captian, joining Brooks Orpik and Sidney Crosby already wearing a letter.

Also the Penguins are starting with a top line of Chris Kunitz, Sidney Crosby, and Pascal Dupuis given their preseason and strong history together. Hoping to find some chemistry among the second line of Neal, Thornton, and Filitov.

Brooks Orpik slides down to the bottom pairing with Simon Despres, as the teams shut down pairng. Veteran, Brooks Orpik, will serve as a mentor for Simon Despres.

Looks like Marc-Andre Fleury will carry the bulk of the games once again this season. "Flower" came off a strong 2012/2013 campaign posting a SAV% of .918 and a GAA of 2.03.
