SOB for MVP
As many of you have found out already, when re-signing high-end prospects, they will be looking to further themselves with an NHL role. The main point I am trying to make is, high-end prospects will not take kindly to being buried in the AHL, and it will show in contract negotiations. This does not apply to players that are still developing in the AHL, there is a difference. This will apply to players that have the attributes to be a successful NHL player. I am just as guilty to this as well, for Evgeny Kuznetsov has the attributes to be a bonified NHL player, but I kept him in the AHL a season longer than I should have. This is not directed at anyone in particular, just be forewarned that keeping already NHL-ready prospects in the AHL could have implications.
