2014 CDCSL Mock Draft (#15-28)

15. Nashville Predators

Reid Duke - A fantastically gifted scorer that fills the Predators need for an elite centre. The only thing holding him back is skating, which is average at best.

16. Columbus Blue Jackets (from Colorado Avalanche)

Connery Randell - A skilled offensive defenceman that can really wire a puck and quarterback the powerplay. Fill form the Jackets' d-core with Murray, Subban, and Dumba

17. Montreal Canadiens

Ivan Nikolishin - A diminuitive but incredibly skilled forward that has flat out dominated the Russian junior leagues. Galchenyuk, meet your new best friend.

18. Ottawa Senators (from Tampa Bay Lightning)

Brycen Martin - The Senators lack a highly skilled defenceman outside of Karlsson. Martin is a big two-way blueliner with excellent hockey sense and offensive upside.

19. Washington Capitals (from Pittsburgh Penguins)

William Nylander - The Capitals aren't shy from taking European players in the draft, and they get a great offensive forward with good bloodlines in William Nylander.

20. San Jose Sharks

Nikita Serebryakov - The Shark's goaltending pool is basically non-existent, so picking this year's top ranked goaltender out of Saginaw is almost a necessity.

21. Carolina Hurricanes (from Ottawa Senators)

Josh Ho-Sang - The Hurricanes take the speedster and puck magician Ho-Sang to shore up their right wing.

22. Anaheim Ducks

Eric Cornel - An enormous centre with fantastic skating ability, Cornell will give the Ducks a formidable 1-2 punch down the middle with Shinkaruk.

23. Montreal Canadiens (from Minnesota Wild)

Brandon Robinson - A huge goal-scoring forward with enviable size. Scouts have compared Brandon's skillset to that of Thomas Vanek.

24. Boston Bruins

Michael Dal Colle - The Bruins continue the run on 'big' forwards by taking Dal Colle to complement their physical game style. Dal Colle has great hockey sense and plays a complete game.

25. Los Angeles Kings

Nikolai Goldobin - Has excellent hands, vision, and a burning desire to score every time he's on the ice. Scouts have compared him favorably to certain young Russian who also played in Sarnia not too long ago...

26. Edmonton Oilers

Anthony DeAngelo - Oilers get a high risk, high reward offensive defenceman from Sarnia. DeAngelo is a puck-moving blueliner with great wheels.

27. Calgary Flames

Kolten Olynek - Olynek is a natural goal scorer (53 goals in 56 games) who thrives in big games. Plays much bigger than his size suggests, drawing comparisons to Daniel Briere.

28. Columbus Blue Jackets (from Winnipeg Jets)

Blake Penner - WHL's rookie of the year (EHM) and named to the CHL Rookie All-Star team. Penner has a great shot and is equally adept and setting up his teammates.

Tied! The first game was an anomaly but the team has settled down and we're on on track. Thornton and St. Louis have 6 points each after four games. Should be a great series after all. I was thinking I'd get swept lol
