gmen81 Posted November 24, 2012 Share Posted November 24, 2012 I know we have a CBA thread and all that, but I was just wondering how many of you actually think there will be no hockey or if you believe hockey will be played this year in the NHL. I think most owners and Bettman will want to avoid decertification - i think too many corporate sponsors leave en mass if it happens. 2 lost seasons in how many years? - and 2 sides use the xmas time to frame an agreement as something of a gift for the fans in an effort to mutually save face. it's hopeful and maybe naive, but that's what I think. Less likely hope is that somehow this leads to Bettman's dismissal. I also don't believe Fehr was brought in because the players wanted to play hardball, I think they KNEW Bettman and the owners were gonna play hardball and hired appropriately. we'll see.
