Deniro I for one like having u on the boards but let relax bro. Goof is a big word. Atleast at where we both come from.

Hah, I know. I don't like to resort to petty insults. It's hard sometimes though.

Ferraro's gotta be the biggest homer.

"A great sell by Schiefele"? Are you kidding me? It was a blatant dive

Well if the ref's gonna buy it, why not sell it?

Who knew that a game between Canada and Slovakia would feature so much theatrics?

Actually when you look at it from a non-biased angle we have been more dirty and have been embelishing more.

Actually I disagree, he is pretty even, and knows what he is talking about.

He called it as a dive and admitted it right away, I don't see any issue with how he called it.

I've never seen so much diving in a game. Yet most of it's come in 1 period. Unreal.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

I so called it. Nagy can't see anything clean. Canada just needs to pepper him. He looks jittery as hell.

Watch them rack up now kids... Good for Ouellet to throw it on net but Nagy is porous.

What a nice play, just straight through and the goalie lost it.

Aside from the dive I have really liked Schefiele's game.

Is the Slovakian backup a sieve or something? I don't see how if I can see that Nagy is struggling and not following plays well that the coaching stuff on Slovakia can't see it. He's been brutal.

I know everyone loves this hard nosed hockey, and I do too. But they've got stop playing this style of game. This is international hockey.

They're going to take a bad penalty at a crucial point in a game if they keep playing like this. And I can guarantee Russia won't be so forgiving.

The team Canada that I love overwhelms the other team with their skill an skating. Not one that resorts to cheap shots and embellishment.

LIKE THAT! Just do it with skill.

He called it a great sell by Schiefele. Did you even read what I wrote or are you just replying to my post just because?

Either way, Hamilton sold his dive pretty well too just prior as well

Edler, Markstrom, Hansen, 2nd round pick 2014 to Islanders for Ryan Strome, 5th overall pick 2014

This is fairly even as well.

SCHEIFELE!!!!!!!!!

He wasn't slowly glinding, from the angles we saw we only saw like a half a second before he hit him, he can in full speed then started gliding about 1.5-2 steps before making contact, his speed didn't change, still charging.

On another note, Slovakia is lucky the period ended, Canada had them running around, if there was a few more minutes I think they might have scored again.

Yeah great sell = great dive or great embelishment.

Sell is just another word (in hockey terms) for embelishment.

How is that being homerish?

And they do the exact same thing in the NHL. What's your point?

Oh and there's your refs evening things up for Canada anyways.

Clear dive, I admit it. But I want to make a point about the NHL refs. Yes NHL refs sometimes will do the same thing the European refs just did. But often times they will also leave a clean hit in penalized even if it causes an injury. I'm saying this is a clean hit. NHL refs make mistakes, just because they do something it doesn't necessarily make it right. The rule book sets out penalties for violations of the rules, it doesn't say to give out penalties for injuries even if it was a clean hit. Refs do that out of emotion.

Yes it should, Charging has to be heavily enforced, or else everyone will get killed.

I've never seen a charging penalty get 5 and a game before. Boarding, elbowing, spearing, hit from behind yes but not charging.

Canada won a lot of gold in a row. They as a nation and the players became entitled. You can see it in the younger guys. It's not a confident swagger, it's just arrogance. The cheap shotting and diving from Canada has picked up in a big way over the last couple of years.

Kind of similar to Kesler. He had an AMAZING year the year before last. But the very next season, he tried to hog even when the other team knew exactly what he was going to do. They'd just stand in front of him and block the shot. And then the diving started. Some people just don't handle their success well when it comes to attitude.
