He has been the best of those 4 by a HUGE margin.

I just worry that Hockey Canada will go back to guys that have been there before. And count on the fact that guys who were drafted in the first round are going to step up in big games.

I hope I'm wrong though. Corrado has done everything that he can to earn a spot so far.

Wow. Sean Monahan cut.

didn't see that one coming. While the team has a good set of centers i thought for sure Monahan would have been playing for team Canada.

So down to 33 with 4 goaltenders, 10 D, 19 forwards. Anyone think Subban might get cut after a brutal performance today?

EDIT: bad math. 31 players with 17 F, 10 D, 4 G

He was literally invisible in the 2 games he played in. Depth at centre also a factor.

The way Monahan played today, I'm not surprised he got cut. He kept charging into the offensive zone then losing the puck and being stuck behind the play. Not impressive at any point. Pouliot, Pelech and Graovac were also easy cuts, just not up to snuff.

Meanwhile, it's pretty clear that to have a 3rd pairing without Corrado is madness at this point. Hamilton-Corrado is definitely worth exploring more as well given their play in the super series.

I would assume they'd probably split Hamilton and Corrado up as they're both right handed.

Also, shouldn't this thread be in Junior Hockey Discussion?

Huberdeau-RNH-Scheifele
Ritchie-Strome-MacKinnon
Hudon-Jenner-Rattie
Camara-Danault-McNeill
extra: Drouin

Hamilton-Reilly
Harrington-Ouellet
Reinhart-Corrado
extra: Wotherspoon/Murphy

Subban
Brossoit
Patterson

MacKinnon has played way better than most forwards and he's earned a spot in the top 6 IMO. Drouin was making plays whenever he was on the ice. His vision and his ability to protect the puck is top notch. Perfect 13th forward.

Top 4 D is pretty concrete, leaving 3 spots up for grabs. Reinhart's ability to retrive the puck and get it out of the zone will be helpful, same with Corrado's skating ability. Murphy has looked average at best even paired with Griffin but he might get the #7 spot since Spott is his OHL coach and for PP reasons. Hoping Wotherspoon makes it because he's played better than Murphy and he can actually defend.

Goaltending is really hard to decide because both Brossoit and Patterson have been good, plus Subban

Replace Camara with Wilson, a lock for a 4th line spot in my opinion.

Getting over a PPG in the OHL as an 18 year old, 6'4 210, big hitter, with a gritty 2 way game.

Well Zack Kassian in 2011, but he wasn't Canucks property at the time so we didn't cheer for him.

And like others have said Cody Hodgson in 2009.

Before that it was Luc Bourdon in 2006 and 2007.

Don't forget Jensen. He carried Denmark last year.

We were just talking about Canadian players.

Internationally the Canucks have been pretty good in the last few years. Schroeder is the all time points leader for team USA, and Rodin was tied for 1st for team Sweden in his year. And then there was Jensen who was Denmark's top player.

Yeah, I hope he can make it too, based on his game alone.

Unfortunately he's had a very bad camp so far. Plus his hit today, according to IIHF rules, would have been suspendable.

Surprised Pouliot was cut before Dumba. Pouliot-Corrado was the best pairing in today's scrimmage.

I'd be worried if Dumba made the team (from what I've seen from him these two days). It's like he can't skate backwards and his lateral movement is horrible. Kept getting burned to the outside today. Perhaps Spott and co. are waiting for the 2011-2012 Dumba to show up because that was a completely different year for him compared this season.

Can't wait for tomorrow!

That may be but he took multiple stupid penalties in the last game. He has not ingratiated himself with the coaching staff.

Corrado-Pylon would have been the best pairing today. He made Dumba look good! He made Pouliot look just fine as well. Having Corrado on a line gave very little information about how good the other d man was. Without him, Dumba and Pouliot looked awful. Plus anyone that escapes a 4-1 loss with a +1 and the only goal is about as close to a lock as you can get. That's why they practically stopped playing him after the first period.

I am so glad those morons in that one other league haven't settled as I discovered yesterday while watching the World Jr rewind from 2009 that I miss hockey terribly. However, I am ecstatic that my first return to relevant hockey since May will be to watch some Canadian kids plays with their hearts and not their wallets. Definitiely one of my favorite times of the year.

Hopefully Corrado makes it. Can't wait until 2:00 AM on Dec 26th.

Fun Fact: Two former Canucks are number 1 and number 2 in all time goal scoring at the world juniors.

Pavel Bure and Markus Naslund.

Corrado has been playing left and right side equally well. He's naturally right side but I rarely see him forced to take or make passes with his backhand because he positions himself so well.

Disappointed. I watched the last two games, and it seemed quite clear that Corrado's game was above his competition's (Reinhart, Sproul, and Wotherspoon).

What a ???? joke. Benning is the worst GM in the NHL. I can't believe this guy is actually this stupid. This imbecile is going to drive this team into the ???? ground.

They were obviously basing the cuts on more than just the players showing in the camp but what sucks is Corrado also had a great Canada-Russia tourny and is having a pretty decent season too.
