i have been reading here for a while and it seams that there are a lot of people who expect way too much out of our prospects. not all of our prospects will turn out to be NHLers or even elite NHLers, so realistically what will you expect our prospects to turn out as

here are the prospects

edit: added comparable's to NHLers

Goaltenders:

-Eddie Lack: Decent NHL Starter- lindback like

-Joe Cannata: NHL Backup/AHL starter-clemmensen like

-Kevin Connauton :NHL 2nd pairing-salo/garrison like

-Patrick McNally : NHL 2nd-3rd pairing-Allen like

-Frank Corrado: NHL 1st/2nd pairing-carle like

-Jermey Price: AHL top 4

-Adam Polasek: Europe top 6

-Ben Hutton: AHL top 4

-Evan McEneny: AHL top 6

-Peter Andersson: Europe top 6

LW:

--------------------------------------------

-Darren Archibald: AHL bottom 6/4th liner

-Ludwig Blomstrand: Europe 3rd liner

-Steven Anthony: AHL bottom 6

-Bill Sweatt: AHL top 6

-Wesley Myron: AHL 3rd liner

-Matthew Beatie: AHL 3rd liner

RW:

-Nicklas Jensen: NHL 1st line- matt molson like

-Zack Kassian: NHL 2nd line- bertuzzi like

-Anton Rodin: Europe top 6/NHL 3rd liner-hansen like

------------------------------------------

-Alexandre Grenier: Europe top 6

-Pathrik Westerholm: Europe 3rd liner

-Alexandre Mallet: NHL 4th liner-lapierre like

-------------------------------------------

-Prab Rai: AHL 3rd liner/ECHLer

-Alex Freisen: AHL 3rd liner

-Stefan Schneider: AHL 3rd/4th liner

what do you expect?

i think corrado is going to turn out well and surprise a lot of people.

if schroeder can overcome his size problem he can be alright.

i can see gaunce turning out like kesler, expected to be a 3rd line checking center and turn out to be a great 2 way forward who can put up points.

our left wingers need to improve big time.

i think Gillis should trade up in the draft this year to get a top 10 pick.

Goaltenders:

Eddie Lack: NHL backup

Joe Cannata: 3rd String/ AHL starter

Defense:

Chris Tanev: NHL 2nd pair

Kevin Connauton: NHL 3rd pair/PP specialist (think MA Bergeron)

Patrick McNally: NHL 7th or 8th D-Man/ AHL top pair (think Dylan Reese)

Frank Corrado: NHL 3rd pair

Yann Sauve: NHL 7th or 8th D-man/ AHL top pair

Henrik Tommernes: NHL 7th or 8th D-Man/ AHL top pair (assuming he comes to NA)

RW:

Nicklas Jensen: NHL 1st/2nd line (Would be good 2nd liner, good enough to play 1st if needed)

Zack Kassian: NHL 1st/2nd line

Anton Rodin: NHL 3rd line/AHL 1st line (however unless he's good enough to get a top 6 role he won't be very effective in the NHL)

Centers:

Jordan Schroeder: Depth Forward/ AHL 1st line (Think Andrew Ebbett)

Brendan Gaunce: NHL 2nd/3rd line (Would be a great 3rd liner, would be good enough to play 2nd if needed)

Joseph Labate: NHL 4th line

Alexandre Mallet: NHL 4th line

Anyone one I left out I don't expect to be in a position to make our team.

Our prospect system sucks. We have a handful of future NHLers, none of which are elite prospects, but the rest are longshots.

Lack: journeyman starter. Like a poor man's Howard.

Tanev: top 4 defenseman. Uses his brain and is a great first passer. Not sure who to compare to.

Sauve: tope 4 shutdown defenseman. Like Mitchell or Douglas Murray

Connauton: top 4 power play quarterback. Like Salo with his shot.

Corrado: 7th defenseman. A poor man's Alberts.

Jensen: borderline first liner. Like shoot first Bertuzzi.

Kassian: third/second liner. Like a poor man's Bertuzzi.

Rodin: third liner. Like Raymond. (I don't see him in a Canucks uniform though)

Schroeder: a useful third liner. Like a poor man's Kesler.

Gaunce: second/third liner. Like Laich or Bolland.

Mallet: typical 4th liner.

People I didn't mention won't make the NHL as regulars.

This is just my opinion.

Centers:

Brendan Gaunce: 2nd line power forward. I could see Gaunce becoming a Jordan Staal type player

Jordan Schroeder: 2nd line playmaker

Alexander Mallet: Bottom six grinder

Joseph Labate: 4th liner

Right wingers:

Nicklas Jensen: 1st line sniper

Zack Kassian: 1st/2nd line power forward

Anton Rodin: Decent 3rd line grinder, could fill in on the 2nd line incase of injuries

Defensemen:

Chris Tanev: Top 4

Kevin Connauton: Same as Tanev but maybe a tad worse

Patrick McNally: Decent depth D man, will play majority of his time on the top pair in the AHL

Henrik Tommernes: Maybe AHL top six? Will most likely play in Europe

Frank Corrado: Solid offensive 3rd pair D man

Yann Sauve: Same as Corrado

Goalies:

Eddie Lack: Starter on a team like Chicago, back up on a team like Vancouver

Joe Cannata: AHL Starter

I ve been following the AHL more closely this year with no NHL, and I must say that I am a bit dissapointed with our prospects.

I dont really see any stars or impact players on the horizon. The only NHL ready player I ve seen would be Tanev, and even then, he s looked shaky at times.

Chris Tanev - 2nd Pairing, reliable puck moving defender

Zazh Kassian - 2nd/3rd Line Winger

Niklas Jensen - 2nd/3rd Line Winger

Frank Corrado - 2nd Pairing reliable defender (Very Similar to Tanev)

Eddie Lack - Backup Goaltender

Gaunce - 3rd/4th Line Centre, defensive specialist

Schroeder - Occasional call-up NHL player

Rodin - Does not make NHL

Price - Does not make NHL

Cannata - Does not make NHL

Not that great in comparison to most teams, but thats what you get for being a winning franchise.

Forwards:

Nick Jensen - 1st/2nd Liner (Borderline 1st Liner)

Jordan Schroeder - 2nd Line Forward (Dangerous Scoring/Playmaking ability)

Forwards:

Nicklas Jensen: 1st line Sniper, 35-30 kinda guy

Zack Kassian: 1st/2nd line Powerforward, Bertuzzi-lite type player.

Jordan Schroeder: 2nd/3rd line Playmaking Center, 15-30, gets top PP minutes.

Brendan Gaunce 2nd/3rd line Two-way center. Plays top PK and can be slotted anywhere in the top 9 due to being able to play wing. 25-25-50 in prime.

Anton Rodin: Will either be a solid, more offensive Jannik Hansenesque player or will be an AHL top sixer.

And that's as far as my glitching out phone will let me go -_-
