They actually killed that 5 on 3 incredibly well. But 6 penalties will wear on the PK guys awful fast.

But overall, I think they have one of the bottom PK's in the league.

Letting 2 PP goals against is never good even if they have gotten 6 penalties.

No disagreement here. Their defense is sorely lacking. There seems to be little of any sort of system in place and defense often seems lost, as does the goalie. But people looking lost is a coaching issue and Arniel provides the team with about as much coaching sense as a CDCer.

Seriously, what's going on?

45 scouts representing 20 different teams. Many GMs. Somethings cookin.

EDIT: AHL officiating is garbage. 5 straight PPs for one team?

Lol I was being serious when I said someone is on the block. It could be a package deal concerning Luongo and one of our prospects, or it could be the scouts are there for the Hogs players.

Only positive to take is that Schroeder and Kassian scored. Kass has 5 points in 4 games, Schroeder with consecutive goals in the last two games.

Wolves have only won 1 of the last 6 now.

The Ice Hogs are one of those teams that are just easy to hate. Just like the Blackhawks.

They seem to have alot of douchey players on their team. Who celebrates an empty net goal like that?

The Wolves weren't good enough again though. Back to the drawing board for Arniel I guess. Not so easy for him to win games without the goalie standing on his head like he's used to.

Piss-poor officiating, but still Wolves have gotta play with a little more discipline. Unable to generate anything on offense after going up 2-0, and can't execute on special teams to save their lives.

Wtf?

For those who may be thinking so, Climie was not at fault here , he actually played very well tonight. But the team let him down.

Totally agree Deniro. Douchy team, celebrating an empty netter like that. Lots of trolls on their team.

Yeah they'll fit in perfectly with the big club. The douchier the better. That actually just makes it so much more fun when we beat the crap out of them..

Like father, like son. To bad they can't back it up on the big club. They have to run around elbowing people and then refuse to fight.

F'n keith. Not having Daniel in the final stretch and for the most part of the first round really killed us. Hope someone beats the crap out of keith when we face them again.

Roster:

Haydar - Ebbett - Kassian
Sterling - Schroeder - Gordon
Archibald - Longpre - Davies
Miller - Mallet - Desbiens

Connauton - Tanev
Hunt - Miskovic
Matheson - Blain

Climie
Cannata

Rodin, Sweatt and Joslin all sitting this one out.

I see that we had only six of our prospects in the lineup tonight. I realize that we have one of the shallowest prospect pools in hockey but this is ridiculous. I was hoping we could have found a better affiliate this year, now I'm thinking there is a urgent need.

Why are you all complaining about the refs? I watched the game and I remember the wolves had around 5 powerplays too.

The wolves had 5 over the course of the whole game. Rockford had 9. 5 in a row once they were at a 2-0 deficit late in the 2nd.

Right. Gotcha. What I was driving at though, was that they only played six of our PROSPECTS that game. Of course they played the AHL veterans that we signed expressly to play in the AHL and as potential emergency fill-ins.

Who else would you suggest the Wolves put on the roster to play? Jensen and Grenier are in Europe, Polasek and Anthony are in the ECHL, Corrado and Gaunce are in junior, etc. so it doesn't leave us a lot of guys who are AHL eligible that would qualify as prospects still.

Friesen, Sweatt, Rodin, and Andersson all sat this last game. I think his point was there are more Canuck prospects that should be playing over guys like Miller, Davies, Miskovic and Blain.

I just think seeing only six of our young players on entry level contracts playing in a game is pretty discouraging. I don't think if you looked around the AHL you would find that happening too many other places. The Wolves franchise does not have a good reputation for developing players for the NHL, they have operated without an NHL affiliation quite successfully in the past. I really hope Gillis doesn't stand by and just allow this relationship to go on year after year, it was an emergency affiliation that came about after the Winnipeg situation came up,

I was disappointed that we went back for a second year there given their player development track record. We really need to start emphasizing player development more as an org. It is becoming a glaring weakness.
