Has anyone had calls from this number: 604-558-0501

They call me multiple times and when I call back, it goes straight to their voice mail. Not sure how to deal with this since my phone service doesn't have a number block feature.

You can register on the Do Not Call Registry.

The National Do Not Call List (DNCL) gives consumers a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls. The National DNCL Rules introduce new responsibilities for Canada’s telemarketers.

If you are a
consumer
you can choose to reduce the number of telemarketing calls you receive by

The DNCL works - sometimes...at least once a month I get the famous automated computer message "Congratulations, you have been selected for an Air Miles Reward - press 1 to speak to a representative..." It has nothing to do with Air Miles - it's a scam. Report the number, it shuts down, and they come back with a new one. So now I just resort to my own way of dealing with them. I press 1, then turn the music up really loud until they hang up. Yeah, I know, not solving anything - but It makes me feel good!

I sometimes play along. I act really panicked and ask if it is dangerous. Then I ask what can I do and of course they want me to log on to a website and I tell them wait a minute i have to turn on my computer... I can sometimes keep them hanging on 15 minutes or more as i feed them fake updates of boot problems my computer seems to be experiencing and I thank them for alerting me and ask if this is the sort of result.

Then once I claim to have the computer booted up I continually mangle their instructions.

Finally after stringing it out for as long as possible I then ask if it makes difference as I am using a Mac.

One time I even got to go through he whole performance a second time when I told them that my wife used a Windows and maybe that was the problem computer.

Good times.
