You know they are probably debating it, as we speak. No one can really be prepared for a thing like this. Impressed they are still taking the field. How would his girlfriends family feel seeing the man who killed a loved one being honoured after death? If anything, they should have a tribute to his girlfriend. No more photos of Belcher. Honour the memory of Kassandra Perkins. Apparently she was shot 9 times in front of her own mother (as per TSN). Like seriously? A real loving family guy doesn't kill his baby's mother. I can't even fathom why people are trying to speak highly of him. TMZ has learned. Sources directly involved with the situation tell us ... the Chiefs have made it clear they don't want either family to be stuck with the massive bills stemming from the funerals or memorial services. We're told members of Belcher's family -- which now has custody of the couple's orphaned newborn baby -- graciously accepted the offer ... and the team will cover all of the costs of Belcher's memorial in KC and funeral in NY. It's unclear if Perkins' family has accepted the offer as well. When called for comment, a rep for the Chiefs told us, "We are assisting both families with arrangements ... We just prefer not to get into specifics of what we are doing or have done." Calls to the Belcher and Perkins families have not been returned.
