Question Fellow Canuckers: Would your rather win a cup on a 40 game season and hear forever about how we really didnt win a legit cup cause of it from EVERYONE, or would you rather just bite the bullet and let this season go and hope for a full 82 game schedule to win it all!?

Buddy I called this EXACT situtation on here two years ago and was flamed, so I guess I have a bit of hockey knowledge, not to mention the 4 years I played in the OHL idiot.

The conspiracy theories that used to be against Lateralus:
Puberty, life, movie theaters, movie theaters that frown upon you pulling it out, movie theaters that frown upon you pulling it out during a children's movie, Toy Story 3, Pixar, who ever decided to make Woody so damn attractive, a job, his mothers basement, being 40, being 40 five years ago, dogs who can out run him, all dogs, the Olympic committee, Truth, Fact, Honesty, Logic, Newsflash, a father figure who was there to see him learn to ride his first bike, bikes,

Ugh. I could totally see that happening. We win the Cup and all the other team's ???? fans just say, "LOL yeah the only way the Canucks can win the Cup is if the season is shortened. It doesn't even count as a real Cup win." Or some other unintelligent argument like that.

Any hockey is better than no hockey.

Haters are going to hate anyways.

The playoffs would still be four rounds.

That's just because Otto kicked it in and they know (subconsciously?) that they never should have won the Cup that year. :towel:

They're still pretty sensitive about the whole thing.

I have a better idea: Let's win the cup this year in a 40-game season, and then again in a full 82-game season next year. Then everyone's happy!

...except Flames fans, which makes it even sweeter!!!

would winning the cup be the same? No. Would I still be happy yes! 40 games + playoffs is far better than 0 games and 0 playoffs I just want hockey to come back. I do enjoy watching the minor leaguers but its just not the same.

41 game season. Look at what the Miami Heat did after their season was shortened by 60 days.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

A 1 game season would be epic! :bigblush:

I'm going to repost my idea from another thread.

2 team league.

No regular season games.

1 playoff game for the Stanley Cup.

It would be either the most amazing hockey you've ever seen, or the most hilariously bad.

Imagine how concentrated the superstars would be on each team. This would be their only chance at winning a cup all year. They would play their hearts out. Or panic and start crapping all over the ice. That's why it would either be the most amazing hockey you've ever seen, or the most hilariously bad.

Doesnt matter to me in the slightest.

In retrospect, the regular season hardly counts for anything.

I would imagine the game being quite high-scoring since they will have had very little practice this year.

I would absolutely love to have hockey back no matter what. If we can win a cup in a shortened season I'll take what I can get. This is almost as bad as people saying we should lose one in Boston on purpose so we can win it in 5 at home....... And like it was mentioned earlier, does anyone give the devils crap about their 95' win? No. Mind you they did back it up with 2 more in the next few years.

I say no NHL hockey until Bettman is fired. Two years, three years.Get rid of him and weed out those that support him in punishing the game over their wallets.

Bettman NHL is the No Hockey League.Three strikes and he should be long gone.

Obviously caring owners of a North American league/cultural tradition doing what is best for the game-not.

How about an intelligence cap limit placed upon owners so they can say no to the prince of 'US tv revenue and franchises placed in non-traditional US hockey markets' Bettman?

Fans need to stop whining for NHL hockey at any costs and start supporting the health of the game.

No NHL in non traditional markets and get rid of the rat.

I would rather have a 40 game season than no season at all.

Also, the idea of a Cup win being tainted after a 40 game season is ridiculous. I guess the teams that won the Cup from '17-'18 until the early '40's all have tainted cups because they played less than / around 40 games?

A Cup is a Cup. Every team always has an equal chance to win it... except the Leafs!
