I was at the NHL/NHLPA meeting today. I knocked some sense into them and they will hammer out a contract by Friday. That's my gift to everyone this year :D

I decided to honour the local culture by giving

8 Comic books
7 packs of smokes
6 packs of 24s
5 golden toques
4 pounds of back bacon
3 french toast
2 turtle necks
and a beer in a tree

Much more practical and no dam birds to clean up after or bloody benefits to pay to all that staff. A heck of a breakfast though!

A Hoser Christmas:

I considered a diamond and sapphire necklace for she who must be obeyed but then I thought heck she would only enjoy wearing that a few times a year and the rest of the time it would be in our safety deposit box. Seemed a waste of $10,000.

So I decided to spend the money instead on a Sharp Aquos 90" LED TV - a gift that keeps on giving.

I thought it might be cool to share the gifts you plan on giving for christmas!

I'm at a loss for what I should get my girlfriend, but I'm hoping this thread can help.

I plan on giving the new Life of Pi book, New Ipod headphones, and a starbucks giftcard/mug.

literally the 3 most boring gifts you could ever get someone

Yeah a wise choice. A TV that will depreciate every year until it's worth zilch over jewelry that will appreciate. Good choice!

It is not my intent to get in circular arguments with anybody. The reason i have avoided saying anything specific is because i know you or someone else will attempt to find an alternate explanation to my points which i intern will have to defend. I see no point in getting involved with the circular argument that is already well under way in this thread. I simply intended to voice my opinion on the subject. In the end either you accept the possibility of corruption and conspiracy or you don't.

Also i find your comments to be very childish. Does taking what i say out of context, paraphrasing and misquoting it make you feel good about yourself? Grow up.

Logic at its finest.

Wife: Kobo E-Reader. Done.

Brother 1 and his wife: $50 gift certificate to local peanut free bakery (kid can only have nut free treats). Done.

Brother 2 and his horrible wife: $50 gift certificate to The Keg. Done.

Mom: Lives on Saltspring Island. Flowers delivered.

Dad and his wife: Wine.

Nieces and Nephews: I don't know, wife took care of it. All done though.

I always tell people not to get me anything, so I'll get nothing this year. My wife will give me the same thing as last year. But that's between me and her.

This year - I bought all of my wifes gifts online.

What a fantastic decision - was able to find items on sale, which allowed me to buy more stuff.... and didn't have to deal with people and crowds...

90" ?!? Did you upgrade from a condo? 'cuz only place I could think of putting on of those would be in a full size basement that was pretty much entirely dedicated to a man cave them!

Almost everything you buy depreciates. So you don't have any car, jewelry, clothing? It doesn't really even matter because the guy won't sell it anyways. Depreciation only really matters when you are selling something.
