DonLever
http://www.edmontonj...5267/story.html Jazz composer and pianist, Dave Brubeck, pioneered style in pieces like Take Five. He had a career that spanned end of WWII to now. R.I.P.

Wetcoaster
My favourite Brubeck album is Time Out from 1959 and its follow-up Time Further Out from 1961. And for those who are not full on jazz fans try "Bernstein Plays Brubeck Plays Bernstein" from 1961. A fantastic collaboration between the Dave Brubeck Quartet and the New York Philharmonic, conducted by Leonard Bernstein. Side 1 features "Dialogues for Jazz Combo and Orchestra," a four-part suite composed by Brubeck's brother, Howard Brubeck, while Side 2 contains five Bernstein-Stephen Sondheim compositions from "West Side Story."
