Anyone else think that Wetcoaster just handed his account over to Sharphooter, or whatever his name was?

"What ever his name was"?? .. .. what ever indeed!!!!

No Sharpshooter got banned because he couldn't hold a respectful civilized argument, and exploded when people used his own argumentative tactics back at him.

'Retire' like you, you mean?

No wonder you wouldn't miss him, he had your number.

We do seem to have a number of atheists expressing their opinions here and in other threads. Fortunately most people in this thread seem to agree that being with family and loved ones on a special day in December isn't necessarily a bad thing. :)

I have designed my life so that i get to see the people i love the most, nearly every day .
So many people in todays world have relegated their loved one's to holidays and special occasions .

There is an old people's home near my farm , every few weeks or so i drop in on two old ladies and give them some flowers and company .
one is 87 and only sees her family at christmas and her birthday , and one is 91 , and her family does not even bother to visit her :sadno:

It doesn't matter what anyone labels the holiday, I will still be drinking Rum Nogs in a sweater that would give an avid gamer an epileptic seizure while cheering the Canadian Juniors on to victory. IMO, Christmas has NOTHING to do with any religion, it has to do with having fun with loved ones.

You can do that at any time of the year. Getting drunk and wearing puke colored sweaters is all very nice but that is not what Christmas was intended to be about.

Where do you get a Pagan Wheel of Life??? That sounds awesome!

Personally I like seeing as many holidays and celebrations as we can get. That way if you miss one the next one's around the corner.

I like holidays too, although too many can negatively affect productivity which is bad for business and thus employees.

As a person who opposes religion I see where these people are coming from in their anti-religious rebellion but these are not things religion controls nowadays, the only thing even semi-remotely religious in nature these are is that some days fall upon holidays traditionally for religious celebration, but the last century and beyond have shown it is hardly about religion at all anymore. I like keeping religion at an arm's length and that's exactly where Christmas stands. It's more concerning to me that Christmas is about superficiality and greed than religion. That's partially why for Christmas and holidays I tell family I prefer their presence and not their presents -- I have far too many other successful family members who haven't yet figured it out.

Check out PagansRUs.com

And there is an instruction manual as well:

This guide is a complete system of rites drawing upon ancient pagan traditions of many cultures to celebrate the life transitions of those on the pagan path. Hundreds of traditions and rites are provided, including birth and paganing, coming of age and death.

For me, the only time when I get offended is when someone gawffs at me for not celebrating xmas and then tries to tell me that Canada is a xtian nation. I have no problem with people saying merry xmas to me, or people putting decorations up in their cubicle, but I would love to just once experience someone in person not giving me a lecture, or looking at me like some kind of freak for not buying in to the whole xmas deal. When I go home for the holidays with my wife we partake in all the festivities, we don't scrooge the party. But when we stay home, which we are this year, we drink our Coeur des Bois and hot chocolates, eat amazing food, and we buy ourselves new PJ's and slippers, that's it. No decorations of any sort, just holiday food, drink, and fun.
