Check out PagansRUs.com

And there is an instruction manual as well:

This guide is a complete system of rites drawing upon ancient pagan traditions of many cultures to celebrate the life transitions of those on the pagan path. Hundreds of traditions and rites are provided, including birth and paganing, coming of age and death.

Meh, I will just do my traditional holiday theme of putting a decorated tree in my house and putting up lights to help brighten up the winter solstice. Exchange some brightly decorated but very much covert gifts. Hang an oversized sock or too above the hearth and put some goodies in it.

I think that's more than Pagan enough and saves me the bother of figuring all that out.

Save a tree - go green and set up a Festivus pole. No distracting tinsel or lights and easy to store after the holiday season:

To err is human - but to really screw up you need a computer.

Always listen to experts. They'll tell you what can't be done and why. Then do it.

Not that I am rabid environmentalist but it seems to me that a tree made of real wood (provided it is harvested sustainably*) would be much less of a hit to the environment than a plastic facsimile or a skinny alternative made of materials better suited to a pop can or airplane wing.

*(Go out into the forest and find the tallest tree you can. Cut it down. Cut the top ten feet off. The perfect Christmas tree every time with the majority of it becoming a seed log for the next generation)

Buy Festivus pole (light weight aluminum made from recycled materials).

Assemble.

Disassemble.

Store.

Repeat for many years.

Would they last that long though? I could see it being potentially bent during a feat of strength or airing of grievances.

Which reminds me of why I think I like Christmas. It's (in theory at least) supposed to be the one day where we can hopefully not have to put up with anyone airing their grievances. (If one needed a hit I suppose they could hit up CDC).

Airing of grievances was a longstanding family tradition - begun by my ex-in-laws.

Sacrilege!!!!!!

Hey, nothing wrong with putting the X back in Xmas! Get a hotly dressed young misses clause outfit going on and you would have a good argument for putting me in the Christmas AND Festivus season!

And just think, you would have a grievence to air if it bugs you!

Twirling on the pole could be the feat of strength!

And after you beat me over the head with it we can all put our grivenences behind over some single malts and go get you a new pole nice and hungover on discount on boxing day!

Stripper pole?

Needs better ground support/weight. Using that as a stripper pole would almost guarantee injury. Of course Wet's a lawyer so he'd probably argue his way out of any resulting lawsuit.

Damn, at first this Festivus thing seemed incredibly stupid but now I'm liking the idea.

You can do that at any time of the year. Getting drunk and wearing puke colored sweaters is all very nice but that is not what Christmas was intended to be about.

If anything Christmas should be about reading an entire post before responding.

Great....something for my future daughter to learn to dance on while she's crying to her therapist (who she's sleeping with) that "Daddy never got us a Christmas tree."
