Provost
I can't stand another look at the CBA thread... so out of boredom, I started looking at how I would shape a roster of all-time Canucks. Looked back a few pages and didn't see a similar discussion. Considering position; how linemates would complement each other; need for role players (not just all top scorers); etc... what would your roster look like? Here is a crack at mine, not sure if I forgot anyone important. Keep in mind I am in my early 40's so am biased towards guys who have played in the last 20 years. Sedin - Sedin - Bure Naslund – Linden - Tanti Kesler – Larionov - Bertuzzi Tiger - Gradin - Smyl Odjick Ohlund - Salo Lumme – Mitchell Lidster – Butcher Bieksa – Babych Luongo Maclean - Top line is simply skill... gets put out every offensive faceoff and is 1st unit PP - 2nd line skilled as well for offence - 3rd line, steadying influence with some toughness, can handle PK as well as put in a few goals. - 4th line, energy with skill and ability to drop the gloves - defence, mix of offence and defensive guys - goalies... I don't think there is an argument that these are the two guys *** Edit: forgot about Larionov... he takes Morrison's place on the 3rd line

etsen3
Why would you have total plugs like the Sedins, Bure, and Linden and leave off some the all time greats such as Eric Weinrich, Tyler Bouck, and Mika Noronen?

Wheels22
Mogilny - Linden - Bure Sedin - Sedin - Messier Naslund - Morrison - Bertuzzi Smyl - Kesler - Odjick Subs: Gradin/Tanti/Tiger Ohlund - Jovanovski Salo - Mitchell Babych - Lumme Subs: Lidster/Hamhuis/Snepsts Luongo Maclean Subs: Brodeur * Only put Messier in because his late 80s/early 90s form mixed with the Sedins would have kicked a lot of ass... Also, don't care if someone is on their wrong side/position

Provost
I was really struggling to consider whether to put Mogilny on the team or not. Also, I entirely forgot about Larionov because he didn't really have his best seasons here. He would definitely blow Morrison out of the lineup. Larionov feeding Kesler with Bert creating open ice for them would be ridiculous.
brooker
Sedin-Sedin-Mogilny Alex was also very strong cycling body with a lethal shot. Naslund-Sundstrum-Bure After the Sedin line keeps you hemmed in your zone would you really wanna play end to end hockey against this line? plus all capable of 90+ points not bad for a 1B line. Tanti-Linden-Steamer Leadership leadership did I say leadership? All played a pretty hard nosed game and great PK'ers Cooke-Chubarov-Keane This was a tough one to peg down but I would not wanna play cooke shouts to Jannik Hansen and Ron Delorme for missing out on 4th line and Jim Sandlak for top six. Ohlund - Kearns Arguably the best Canuck D drafted in Ohlund and Kearns play-making was some of the best ever in a Nucks uniform. Lumme - Mitchell Very skilled two way with a very long reaching stay at home defense. responsible at Both ends. Allen - Butcher Two tough hard ass Defense whom would rarely be out muscled. Shouts to Salo for Harold Snepts and KEVIN McCarthy. Lou and K-McLean Obviously.

Kran
He wasn't a favourite of mine, but Mats Sundin should be in the top two lines for most of people's lineups. The guy had every single offensive tool there is. And according to Cabbie, he smells great too
