PlayStation
Greatest stunt of all time (For now) Red Bull Stratos was a space diving project involving Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner. On 14 October 2012, Baumgartner flew approximately 39 kilometres (24 mi) into the stratosphere over New Mexico, United States, in a helium balloon before free falling in a pressure suit and then parachuting to Earth. Reaching 1,342.8 km/h (834.4 mph)—Mach 1.24—Baumgartner broke the sound barrier on his descent, thus becoming the first human to do so without any form of engine power. Edler0023
A Canadian finishes his 8611 m expedition - climbing K2 (also known as the Savage Mountain), the second highest mountain on earth after Mount Everest, located on the border between Baltistan - in the Gilgit-Baltistan region- of Pakistan and the Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County of Xinjiang, China. According to Wikipedia, it is most dangerous to climb K2 from the Chinese side so it is mostly climbed from the Pakistani side using the Abruzzi Spur route. It has never been climbed in winter, and its reported that for every 4 people who have reached the summit, one has died trying. K2 is one of the peaks of the 'Karakoram' - north of the Himalaya range ; the majority of the highest peaks are in the Gilgit-Baltistan region, Pakistan - also used by Pakistan's armed forces for training. Master 112
Good thread. Probably the most horrific image from the Vietnam War. The photo was simply titled "Napalm Girl". The girl in the center was burned so badly across her back she shed her clothing as she ran away. She is now a Canadian citizen.
