Hey all

I know the chances of the Leafs trading Phaneuf are slim to none, but say Nashville came calling with an appetizing offer for Dion and Burke decided to pull the trigger on it. In my opinion, Phaneuf would be the perfect replace for Suter. A Phaneuf - Weber pair would be insane.

So what do you think the Preds would be willing to give up for Phaneuf?

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Ellis
Wilson

Would probably be the price.

That sounds fair. I like the sound of a potential future pair in Ellis - Reilly.

This is what I was going to say, Wilson to help them at center, a future D-man with potential and a 1st.

I doubt they would do it though, they highly value Phaneuf.

I've seen Rielly play a few times, and oh man him and Ellis on a pairing would be a defensive catastrophe.

I think Nashville would love Phaneuf, he has leadership qualities and he would be so sick with Weber, but then would the leafs give up a franchise player for the future when they're trying for the cup now?

I think their D core will be just fine even without Dion.

Liles - Gardiner
Rielly - Franson
Komisarek - Gunnarsson

What the Leafs need right now are a starting goalie, a top six center and a top six winger. They could either trade for each of those or free up cap space and go after those in free agency.

Slim chance. The asking price would probably be absurd.

I think this is pretty spot on for value.

They've been trying for the cup since the late 90's.
