If Buffalo gets the 1st overall pick and Vancouver gets the 2nd, I can see Buffalo grabbing Jones since they're already loaded with young talented centers.

Buffalo would be stupid to pass on Mackinnon.
All they have is Hodgson and Girgensons as true centers.
Grigerenko and Armia are much better wingers.

Mackinnon is going to be the clear cut number one center, no question.
Hodgson's lacks in speed and strength and Girgensons is more of a grinder 3rd line center.

Ignoring the team draft order, the ranking of the prospects is pretty bang on.
Could see Rychel, Gauthier, and Ristolainen going up a few spots though.

He won't. His skating will be a major concern for many teams. He may even slip to the 2nd round.

if the season is wiped everyone starts with three balls. every first overall pick and every playoff appearance in the last 5 years(I think) remove one ball. all teams will have a minimum of one ball of course. so no he didn't

If Vancouver grabs Jones and Schneider stays in net, within two seasons, Canucks will be solid contenders for the Cup, as the Kings were last season.

And Barkov, he's way to low on this, other than that the rest are not bad.

The rest is pretty good though.

I think the Canucks might have a hard time, getting that high of a pick to draft Jones. I love the Finn's in this draft tho.
Barkov, and Ristolainen would both be great pick ups.

I'll make you a friendly bet that Lazar doesn't crack the top 20. Other than that, fair enough.

2 straight presidents trophy, even if people put no value in those trophies. Being #1 in the NHL standings kind of gives us the label of contenders already so....

I put Nichuskin ahead of Morrissey but he should very well be the 2nd dman taken in the draft after Jones. He'll be taken somewhere in the 7-10 slots for sure.

Really you think? From what I have seen he has been pretty good.

Alright deal.

I'll also place in that bet that his name will continue to fall in every subsequent draft list you will see from here on out.

Not that he's a bad pick but considering his skating he doesn't do enough other things in addition to scoring. He's a good prospect because he can make plays in the Dub but he's got obvious deficiencies that will cost him at the next level.

The guy I had a really hard time leaving off of my list is Morgan Klimchuk. I wouldn't be surprised if he continues to climb up the board. There are worse things you can do than pick the best skater in the Dub draft class.

/ Sorry, chicken man. I didn't mean to hijack your thread. I meant to make my own but you beat me to it and I can't keep my big mouth shut.

If the season is wiped, he did it right.

I read it was different. Ie. the teams who made the post-season least in last 5 years gets a higher % than teams who made it every year, etc.

Its still weighted for the weaker teams to get higher picks and stronger teams to get 2nd tier but there would always be a surprise.

Great thing about drafting Finn's is its almost like drafting Canadians with how they play :)

Oh boy, our friendly bet isn't looking too good from my end right now.

Atleast I can hang my hat on that Craig Button is probably TSN's worst analyst (Now that Pierre is gone) And perhaps will turn out wrong, again.
