That's fine with me.
I'll be happy to 'settle' for the next Burrows (undrafted), Hansen (9th round), Edler (91st overall), Bieksa (5th round).

None of whom were drafted by Mike "thinking outside the box" Gillis.

Gillis isn't necessarily the issue, but if you want to go there, you might give Tanev a bit more time - an undrafted free agent signing thanks to Dave Gagner and Mike Gillis - who receive far too much premature judgement. Or give Corrado a bit of time - a fifth round pick. Or Eddie Lack - another free agent signing that didn't even cost a pick. Higgins was picked up for Oberg and a 3rd. Lapierre for less than Higgins. People love to complain - about what, I'm not really sure. Hodgson, Schroeder, Jensen, Gaunce...what is the problem exactly?

Gagner brought in Tanev, whom has never scored an NHL goal.

No draft picks playing for the Canucks after five Mike Gillis drafts.

Gillis is not exactly thinking outside the box and with no picks after five years we wonder what, exactly, is he thinking?

Should be paying his Dave Nonis and Brian Burke amends for his record.

Gillis arrives - the local media announce that "The losing starts now". LOL!

Gillis' team wins two President's trophies and competes in more playoff games than any other team in the NHL during his tenure.

What is he thinking? Obviously it's "Oh NO!! Nuck nit and King of ES aren't happy!!"

The losing continues now!!!

0 out of the 30 prospects on this list are from the Vancouver Canucks.

That's about all you need to know as to why so many on Canucks.com think that it's so horribly written.

No... It's horribly written for many reasons. Button has proven time and time again he doesn't really know what he is talking about.

Actually people think the list is so horribly written because:

- Nick Bjugstad is #14 and ahead of many prominent names: R.Murray, Mika Zibanejad, Vasilevsky, Grigorenko, Forsberg, exc.
- Hampus Lindholm is ahead of Ryan Murray
- Justin Schultz is #1, Ahead of Yakupov, Tarasenko, Kuznetsov, and everyone else.
- Subban 9 spots ahead of Vasilevsky
- Brett Ritchie at #11 ahead of Hamilton, Granlund and everyone else (Shouldn't even have been on the list IMO)
- Rielly ahead of Yakupov
- Baertschi ahead of Huberdeau (This one isn't terrible but Huberdeau is still better IMO)
- Gaudereau & Jarnkok ahead of Murray, Zibanejad and others
- Trouba ahead of Murray
- Watson ahead of Zibanejad, Murray and others. (Big Watson fan but way to high)
- And then from a Canucks perspective, that Kassian and Jensen aren't on when there are people on they are better than isn't exactly great either.

I'm not surprised though, after all it is written but Button.

Okay, explain to me in detail how Jaden Schwartz is better than Jensen. I would love to hear your analysis.

And try to use facts and examples, rather than just spewing your empty hate for Gillis and Canucks prospects.

Gagner brought in Tanev? I didn't realize he had the power to sign players. Interesting.

No draft picks playing for the Canucks after 5 years, and yet the team has never been better. Hmmm. If you can fill holes through signing players, then who cares?

The average player doesn't enter the NHL until they're 22 anyways. Guess how old his oldest pick is? 22! And this is on a very deep team where not alot of spots are ever open. A few of our prospects would be in the NHL right now if they had been picked by weaker teams.

Yes we signed a player who was a free agent and turns out is actually quite a good prospect, and probably the eqivalent of a 1st Round pick, atleast where we pick anyways. What a terrible move that turned out to be...

Hodgson played for us, Sauve has played for us. Then aside from that we have alot of prospects who are really close, and probably would be in the NHL or atleast got serious chances on other teams, "unfortunatly" we have the "issue" of being able to be patient with our prospects because of how good our current team is. Shame on us.

And yes what exactly is he thinking? Why did he draft Corrado in the 5th Round? Why did he get Jensen at 29? We did he get Gaunce and Schroeder both of which fell too us? Why did he pick up Connaution in the 3rd Round, why did he get Andersson in the 5th Round? Why did he get Cannata in the 6th Round? Why did he get Polasek in the 5th Round?

What on earth was he thinking with him picking past 20 every year, every round????? What oh what!!??? :frantic:

Interesting comments coming from the guy who's not at all sold on Schultz because "it's half a year in the freaking AHL".

One thing that concerns me about Jensen is that he did not improve, year-over-year, in the OHL from when he was drafted to last year. He ended off 2011 on a very high note, putting up huge numbers in the playoffs. Then he followed that up with a season where his numbers didn't improve, and he had a very ho-hum playoffs. You'd think that with an extra year of maturity/growth, he'd have been able to be that much more dominant. Nope. Red flag, IMO.

 His numbers did improve from 0.95 to 1.01 points per game. 5 points in 6 games in the playoffs is not ho-hum playoffs.
