Here's the thread for today's Chicago Wolves game vs the Lake Erie Monsters (Colorado Avalanche farm team).

So far it's 2-1 for the Wolves. Andrew Ebbett scored the first goal for the Wolves, with the assists going to Mark Matheson and Chris Tanev. Brett Sterling scored the Wolves' 2nd goal on the PP, with the lone assist going to Kevin Connauton.

A couple minutes to go in the 1st.

Woo hoo! Thanks for thread.

Question of the night:

Which Wolves d-pairing is already a -1? If guess you something other than the obvious, put the drink down.

and

On the flip side, which Wolves d-pairing is already a +1?

Like clockwork....

Just a correction to the OP: Zack Kassian and Andrew Ebbett drew assists on the Sterling goal, not Connauton. Must have been an AHL.com error.

Sterling again on the PP! Ebbett will get the first assist, not sure about the 2nd. Just listening to the radio feed.

Both are great at this level, Sterling in particular had a 55 goal rookie season. Both are on contract with the Wolves, Longpre re-signed with the Wolves after the Canucks demanded his trade as part of the Pahlsson deal.

Longpre should get an NHL contract in my opinion. Sterling is 28 and hasn't had a sniff at the NHL, plus undersized at 5'7 170.

ok thanks guys.

from what i have seen sterling plays much bigger then he is..
and longpre looks like he is a underrated talent if he was not drafted ...but just what i have seen haven't watched all the wolves games.

It's really too bad that Alex Friesen has been so underwhelming. I know you can't really assume a prospect's future when they're still in junior but up until last year he was looking like he could develop into a solid, defensive bottom 6 centre in the future. Still could, of course, but he looks a little lost at the AHL level so far.

Cue De Niro coming in and telling me I should watch more highlights before making judgments. Lol.

They're really targeting Tanev tonight, at least 3 times I've seen him crunched against the boards, twice he was slow to get up.

Those bums! Sucks when you've been the only good player this season, you've got a giant target on your back. I noticed it last game as well, they were pushing/shoving him, trying to get him off his game. Good luck with that, kid has ice running through his veins. Doubt anything would throw him off his game. I just hope he doesn't get injured.

Edit: Looks like Kass was credited with his 2nd assist tonight

Yeah, nothing will get under Tanev's skin unless there's already a scrum going, but Kassian, Archibald or someone needs to stand up for him if this keeps on happening.
