dudeone
Mitt Romney ‘had no desire to run,’ son says By Dylan Stableford, Yahoo! News | The Ticket – 4 hrs ago http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/mitt-romney-no-desire-president-tagg-says-191236665--election.html Mitt Romney didn't want to be president, anyway. That's what Tagg Romney, Mitt's oldest son, told the Boston Globe for its big post-mortem on his father's failed presidential bid published on Sunday. “He wanted to be president less than anyone I’ve met in my life," Tagg Romney told the paper. "He had no desire to ... run. If he could have found someone else to take his place ... he would have been ecstatic to step aside. "He is a very private person who loves his family deeply and wants to be with them," Tagg continued. "He has deep faith in God and he loves his country, but he doesn’t love the attention.” Romney's reluctance to become commander in chief has been hinted at by his sons before. Before their father sought the 2012 GOP nomination, several said they tried to convince him not to run. "I tried to convince him not to," Matt Romney told Conan O'Brien in June. "I think there were a few of us that tried that. I just felt for us as a family, this isn't the best thing. But ... for the country, we think it's the right thing." SkeeterHansen
Sounds like the words of a sore loser, imo. Daddy didn't win so we'll try and save him some face.
Xbox
I was so scared that he was going to win. He would of caused 2012 to happen. Good job, America! Voted the right guy in. Well, some of you at least!
Scott Hartnell's Mane
And it showed...he seemed disinterested throughout much of the campaign and not revealing the tax returns was an albatross for him.

Buggernut
Is it not plausible that he was just a stand in for what the GOP figured was a doomed election? It ain't getting any better for them, with progressive thinking and Latinos on the increase.

Jägermeister
Oh so he wanted to lose. That explains A LOT.
Buggernut
I don't think it's plausible. A world-stage such as the US Pres. election is, it just wouldn't happen.
Guest Gumballthechewy
Could it be a case of "Save the better candidate for 2016", when they figure he would have a better chance without having to go up against Obama (if they have any, that is)? babych
So a guy who didn't want to win almost beat Obama? What happens when they want it?
SkeeterHansen
That's enterly plausible, remember, politics is a very shrewd game played by very shrewd people.
Guest Gumballthechewy
Yeah but, I just couldn't see such a big thing as the president of the United States would be thrown out the window in a game of "save it for the better one"
