theminister
I know the thread's about active players but on the GWG list, Jagr (who is active) is pointed out to be currently 1st overall. I was asking how it was possible Gretzky wasn't 1st overall. I figured he must have scored quite a few game winning goals unless a huge majority of his goals were insurance/garbage goals. WHL rocks
Nice thread. Here's a stat I've posted before on CDC. It's an amazing stat, couldn't believe it when I first came upon it.... Only player in the history of NHL to score 300 goals and 300 Assists in his first 6 seasons and NOT play in the 1980's is Alex Ovechkin. Gretzky, Lemieux, Bossy, Kurri are the only other 4 players to achieve this but hey all played in the 1980's when hockey was a wide open game. http://www.hockey-reference.com/play-index/psl_finder.cgi?request=1&match=combined&year_min=&year_max=&season_start=1&season_end=6&age_min=0&age_max=99&birth_country=&franch_id=&is_active=&is_hof=&pos=S&handed=&c1stat=goals&c1comp=gt&c1val=299&c2stat=assists&c2comp=gt&c2val=300&c3stat=&c3comp=gt&c3val=&c4stat=&c4comp=gt&c4val=&order_by=points
smurf47
I feel bad for all these guys, the lockout has taken away too many games, which could of added to their numbers. Imagine how far ahead Brodeur could of been, Jagr, Selanne, Iginla etc. Heck all those guys in or around the top 10. Swept the Bruins? Sort of hard when the team could not score at all. 7 goals scored the entire 7 game finals, 4 of which were scored in the first two games. So unless the Canucks won 1-0 in game 3, and if in Game 4 it was tied 0-0 and went to a coin toss which gave the Canucks the win, then well it could of happend. Dont blame Luongo when the team infront of him played horrendous, your suppose to bail each other out. Luongo had his fair share of bailing his team out in games 1 & 2 and 5. smurf47
He's still in the top 10 best goalies in the league, but he used to be in the top 3. Sometimes the best.

uber_pwnzor
Crosby not even close. Gretzky, Lemieux, Bossy, Kurri are the only other ones and they all played in the 80's Just shows how dominant OV was for the first 6 years.
