Junior hockey is actually a lot of fun to watch, and this guy will be the next big thing in the dub

Already 5'11" 180lbs as a 14 year old, he's ripping up his league with 100 pts in 21 games. The record is 131pts in 33 games from Ty Rattie and Benson is well on his way to break that record

Surely he will be a high pick in the WHL bantam draft next year. However he'll be 15 next year and won't be eligible to play in the dub. I wonder if we'll see the first exceptional status out west

Hopefully Seattle gets him and pair him up with Barzal, or Kootenay with Reinhart

Johnny Gaudreau>any Casucks

Edler, Markstrom, Hansen, 2nd round pick 2014 to Islanders for Ryan Strome, 5th overall pick 2014

This is fairly even as well.

As I said before in that other thread, its Benson and Kale Clague for #1 overall. Apparently its so neck-and-neck that it will come down to the teams needs (Giants)?

Exactly. One's a Dman one's a forward. Both are exceptional players

And in next years WHL draft you got Jordy Bellerieve (sp?). His brother Matt plays with the Red Deer Rebels and he's looking like the real deal.

I hope the Giants get the first overall pick and get Benson. He'll be a force, just in time for the Giants Mem Cup bid.

Could he be the first WHL "exceptional player"?

Looking more and more likely the Giants will draft this kid! Has anyone actually seen him play?

5'11" as a 14/15 year old?? Damn.. He'll probably peak at around maybe 6'3? 6'4 by the time he's 18? Or just over 6 feet I imagine.. Don't know much about the kid but the fact that he's the next biggest hockey phenom that's going to be in the CHL.
