Play It Again, Sam - 7/10

Woody Allen plays a neurotic film critic obsessed with Humphry Bogart, who is trying to get back in the dating game. It's a simple, somewhat shallow movie, but if you like Woody Allen's brand of comedy, it is downright hilarious at times. But if you're not a fan, this one certainly won't change your mind.

The scene where he tries to pick up the depressed girl at the Art Gallery made me howl. Soooooo funny.

Perhaps the quintessential Woody Allen joke

My favourite film director/writer hands down. That movie has some really great scenes, but some other bits (nightclub scene) are just so bizarrely dated that they become funny for the wrong reasons

One of my favourite Woody Allen scenes from "Take the Money and Run"

Or Woody Allen as sperm in Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex?

Thank you Netflix US for making the next two reviews possible.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi - 9/10

Like a lot of people, I love a really good meal. Whenever there is a get together among friends/family, it is always insisted that it be done at our house as I absolutely love cooking for people. I would prefer to spend the entire evening cooking for company than have someone make it for me. The entire process is something I absolutely look at as an art. Most people would enjoy "Jiro Dreams of Sushi," simply because the man is an absolute perfectionist from how he trains his employees (apprentices won't even make an egg sushi until 10 years in) to where he sits the guests in his 10 seat restaurant. Such an interesting story.

Re-Animator - 9.5/10

Why it took me until now to see "Re-Animator," I will never know. What an absolute blast of a B-Movie cult film this is. Although the entire film is nearly flawless, what makes it even better is that it is only 84 minutes; making every single scene necessary. I don't want to say or give anything away. Just watch it and fall in love with possibily the best horror/comedy of all time.

Yeah, I'm also a big fan.

I also loved the part where he's all "Lean on me babe...", then he bumps into the small tree, and seems genuinely hurt and upset. The timing and the look on his face was just perfect.

Rented Skyfall last night. Meh. 5.5/10

Too dark and psychological for you? I'd give it an 8/10. I just bought the Blu-Ray (Now I have all the Bond movies..muahahhaaha!)

I thought they tried too hard to make it like Dark Knight/Rises. I do think they need to hire better writers.

Purvis and Wade have had too long a run, and their track record isn't that great.

They wrote:

The World is Not Enough - Ok

Die Another Day- Ugh.

I won't count Casino Royale as it's partly based on a Fleming Novel.

Quantum of Solace - Ugh

Skyfall- Actors make up for the writing.

I'd get Paul Haggis to write and direct the next one if he wants. (Crash/Million Dollar Baby/Helped with the dialogue on Casino Royale)

7 Psychopaths - 8/10

Very funny, well written. Between this and In Bruges I am really starting to like this director/writer. I loved this movie from start to finish and Sam Rockwell deserves a bunch of credit/kudos for his role.

Zero Dark Thirty - 6/10

I dont get the critical love appeal with this movie. It was boring, awkwardly paced and too long. Watch if you must, but I really didnt enjoy it all that much. Chastain as always, was solid however.

Mama - 3/10

For a movie being lauded by the critics for how scary it is, and being directed by Guillermo Del Toro, this movie was awful. Maybe I am the only one who thinks the Unknown is scarier than the seen, but Del Toro throws that notion out the window in the first 4 minutes. Overshowing the "ghost" , not building tension at all, and inserting a cheesy ass story that doesnt explain 80% of the movie... Ugh. Why cant we get a decent horror movie.

Life of Pi - 9/10

The movie itself I would only give a 5 or 6 /10, however the visuals and use of 3D boosts it to a 9. It is truly beautiful and the most amazing use of 3D since Avatar.

ya. i see this happen a lot with Tarantino... del Toro didn't direct Mama, he was the exec producer. A little different.

It was dark and psychological? I assume you are being facetious considering your negative view of the writing (which I share), which to me, is 90% of the movie.

The acting was fine but I don't care who was in the movie, the movie itself suuuuuucccccckkkkkeeeed.

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

Why was there some list with every operative's name on it (Mission Impossible did this plotline better a decade ago)? Why does Bond dig shrapnel out of his own shoulder (Manchurian Candidate)? How does M16 get hacked and blown up (Die Hard) from an outside source in China? Why does the resident genius Q, decide to download the terrorist's harddrive to the same network that runs said terrorist's cell, after capture? How does anything that happens after this point in the movie make any friggen sense?

This movie was an embarassing plagiaristic wasteland of lazy writing. Shame on the critics who gave this monstrosity a positive review, it doesn't earn it.

For the record, I didn't mind Casino Royale, even though the poker scenes were laughably amateurish. Whoever wrote and directed those scenes either didn't care to understand anything about poker or were horribly misled.

^^^While I certainly didn't dislike Skyfall as much as you did, I absolutely have to agree for the most part. The plot holes in Bond movies don't bother me so much, as majority of Bond films have never been about fantastic writing or plot. However, I just didn't see why Skyfall received as high of praise as it did get. I remember seeing it, but I don't remember being blown away by it.

Anyway, another review after watching a movie on Valentine's Day.

The Decoy Bride - 3/10

What can I say, it's a romantic/"comedy". These movies, save a few, are absolutely retarded. The Decoy Bride is no different. I like all the actors that are in it: David Tennant, Alice Eve, and Kelly MacDonald (such a great accent). However, the film is really stupid and I saw zero chemistry between MacDonald and Tennant. Just really dumb.

If anyone is using Netflix on xbox, ps3, apple tv, android, etc and wants to learn how to switch it to American netflix 100% free, PM me. I finally did it the other day and cannot be happier.

BTW, i looked this up, since i am not selling a service or advocating anything illegal (since you are still paying for netflix) I am allowed to offer this.

Lots of bad movies currently playing..

And speaking of bad movies, I wanna watch Spring Breakers.. we all know why.

Why? You can see prettier girls doing lewder things on the internet without having to shell out 12 bucks. And you don't have to sit through the poor attempts at plot and acting.

That may be true, but how will I see Selena Gomez doing stuff like that without the movie?

Have you seen it yet?

I think Harmony Karine is a really interesting director and I can't wait for Spring Breakers to come out
