Any one know if this game follows the 35+ contracts rule? If a guy retires early will you be stuck with his cap if he is signed after he turns 35?

I bet if you offer a 34 year old an 8 year contract he'll ask for less money (it's true in offline be a gm at least). The player will just retire after 3 years anyway.

Plekanec is 37 and he wants about 600 thousand less if I offer him an 8 year deal (hey why not save cap if I can) but I really dont want to be stuck with his cap if the game follows the rule

Can it almost be assumed at this point that this same league is going down in NHL14? Even though there have been some arguments, especially early on when we were working out new rules and so forth, I think we've got a pretty solid league. I'd like this to continue, and next year we'll have a great idea of how everyone in the league operates and so forth.

I don't think there's a 35+ rule, but I sign all my 35+ guys to 1-year deals regardless.

Jagr played until he was 46, so the last thing I'd want is an $8M 70-something overall player in his early 40s who just refuses to retire
