Hodgson stresses positives about his time with Canucks

"Vision, good presence, catalyst for us in all areas---defensively,creating,faceoffs---exceptional ,intense, poise, quick hands. He just does everything well."

Despite missing about two months with a broken bone in his hand, Hodgson was averaging slightly better than a point a game heading into Friday's contest with Abbotsford.

"He started out a little slow, but that was just because he was out for two months, basically," said Rolston, adding the centre needed to get his timing and game tempo up to speed.

"But after that, he's been exceptional for us, just a catalyst for us in all areas -- defensively, offensively, creating, power plays, faceoffs. He just does everything well."

Despite a high public profile, the Toronto native keeps things low-key in the Americans' dressing room.

"He's pretty quiet, pretty intense," said Rolston. "He goes about his business professionally. But, certainly, he's a good presence with our team. He was out (with his injury) for a couple months, and our record showed."

Like all players, said Rolston, Hodgson can still improve his defensive game. But he has plenty of offensive skill.

"He's got really good vision," said Rolston. "He can make plays in small areas. (He has) a lot of poise with the puck, especially on the power play.

"There's a lot of poise on entries once he gets in the zone and is set up. He's got really quick hands, whether it's to finish or to find guys in small-area plays. He does that exceptionally well."

Not upset about the trade at all. He wasn't happy on the third line, and didn't want to be a professional about it (ex Schneider)

My problem is we gave up by far the best player in the trade. We didn't need another winger we needed another center, we have too Manu wingers.

Gargnani was garbage and anyone could have told you both Kass and Grags were risks. It should have been Kass and a first for a plYwt as decorated as Hodgson ESP with his success in the NHL.

Bone head trade Gillis, just hope Kass finds a regular contributing role with the bucks in the next few years

Arniel says Kassian has to hit & run over people, crash the net & when he gets away from that, he's ordinary player.20Nov12

Wolves coach Scott Arniel tells us that Jordan Schroeder and Zack Kassian both struggling when it comes to scoring.20Nov12

Kassian was billed as the leaner power forward in the best shape of his life. Schroeder was the playmaking centre whose defensive game had finally begun to flower enough he was being seriously considered for the NHL.

But, on Saturday, not only were the two not playing in the NHL, they weren’t playing in the minors either. Both were healthy and both were scratched.

It was Arniel’s call, though he did let the Canucks in on his decision before Saturday.

In an interview Tuesday, GM Mike Gillis said he supported it....

“They know why I did it,” Arniel said of the Canucks.

And Botchford also knows s#it about coaching. Which is why he throws in his pathetic comment about AV swallowing the key. Funny thing - the Sedins, Kesler, Burrows, Hansen, Bieksa, Edler etc did just fine developing under AV - and none of them stepped in an whined about not taking veteran's minutes. But the Province is another animal - which is why they whined so much about AV not giving Hodgson enough minutes, that the Canucks were 'playing with fire', that the rookie deserved Hank and Kesler's minutes.

Ridiculous.

Perhaps the dumbest a$$ story in Canucks history.
