Holy Smokes! Wow...glad I'm wrong. I asked the NHL and NHLPA to surprise me and they did. I'm still deeply hurt, and it's going to be a long time before I buy merchandise etc.

But this round of negotiating just emphasizes how this could have been avoided. I think there's going to be long term damage to the league.

Suspensions longer than 6 games are decided by a neutral third party.

That means Torres' suspension would not have been nearly as long.

Crap. Time to get a second job, so I can afford to come up from Seattle for some games now.... I say they just make Center Ice free this season.

I'm not forgiving the NHL. But for me, I can seperate the NHL and the Canucks.

The Canucks are more than just a group of players or owners. The team will always represent something pure and special to me no matter how much owners and players fight and piss us off.

Does that mean they'll be getting any money from me? Hell no.

Honestly...I thought the season was done and I had plans for other things in life...so my hockey $ is gone now and I won't go to any games this season (usually I attend 6-8 games a year)...won't happen this year.

I am still upset....I will probably watch some games on TV...won't spend a penny on the team though.

Still won't be buying any merch, tickets, or even re-subscribing to cable. Want my money? Fire that imbecile running the league.

All teams that miss playoffs will have chance at 1st pick overall in the draft.

All 14 teams will be eligible.

Not very nice...he may not be the brightest but they have been negotiating for 16 hours through the night so you might cut the guy a break.

The franchise has seen a lot of the good ,bad and ugly.
It certainly is not 'pure' but hockey is our national game and it is the best team sport in the world.
That is what makes it so special,so heartbreaking and so enduring.

I read somewhere 35% Variance but salary can't change 50% from first year to last. which doesn't make sense, I think it will pbbly be salary can't change 50% from highest to lowest year of contract. Owners wanted 60%

I have followed the Canucks since inception.
Other than one game in 1970 I have never been to another one.
I don't buy NHL anything but I do follow the game and the players.
It is all about hockey to me and the NHL owners and the salaries and the money sideshow are just an annoyance.

Yeah I was thinking right. I think this is great. Rich teams will still circumvent the cap by paying more upfront and trading the player in the last couple of years of contract but it won't be like Luongo or Weber contracts. Not a fan of those types of contracts.

Nick Kypreos@RealKyper

Also on new #NHL #CBA contract variance lowest number can or be 50% less than highest. Example. 10m-5m

When I saw the tweet from Adrian Dater (who scooped everyone else by like 45 seconds) saying it was over..... I felt that episode of The Newsroom where they know they killed Osama Bin Laden, but were waiting for double confirmation..... then my twitter feed exploded.

Happy its back. Mad that I'm in a market where they dont need to try too hard to win fans back.

I don't know why people are so shocked. After what was happening over the past few days a deal was close. Not a surprise it got done, just a matter of when today or tomorrow or the day after.

Does anyone know when trades should start being announced? I have a feeling there are going to be a ton right off the bat.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Can't believe I'm saying these things but I can't wait to see another of Don Cherry's glorious suits. I can't wait to hear the melodious sounds of whining Bruins fans, or Pierre McGuire's riveting trivia about how many marshmallows were in Sidney Crosby's Lucky Charms this morning.

I can't wait to see Kesler's Oscar-worthy acting skills, and I can't wait to see Mason Raymond racing in blazing circles around the perimeter of the offensive zone. I'm even excited to see one of Brendan Shanahan's suspenseful, action-packed suspension videos. I won't even take Tuesday night games in Columbus for granted anymore. It's been too long.
