UFCanuck
Lets see...7 days for camp to prepare for a shortened season; all of the prospects are halfway into their regular season with their junior/college/amateur teams; threads already citing very limited number of minor league/junior call ups...yah, a rookie challenge is gonna happen. Are you seriously this common sensically challenged? Unbelievable.
disisdayear
Unfortunately, the prognosis for full recovery from that kind of injury (labrum tear) can be lengthy. If you read around on fitness forums and such, you'll see it's not uncommon for recovery to take a full year. Meaning of course, that what Kesler's agent is saying about him not playing at all this year, is entirely possible. Trading Luongo seems to be getting all the headlines (probably because the Center of the Universe is involved), but in reality, the health (or lack thereof) in Kesler's case is far more impacting than any Luongo trade. That 2nd line Center position needs to be addressed. Not plugged, not patched, seriously addressed. I've always wanted to see Mike Ribeiro in a Canucks uniform. He has a similar cap hit to Kesler's, and he is a consistant .75PPG guy in over 500 NHL games. Doubtful the Caps will let him go but a man can dream. If that position doesn't get shored up, and soon, the season is very much in question IMO. Teams in our division have gotten a lot stronger. A patchjob at #2C is not going to get it done. It remains to be seen how the Sedins will respond after a somewhat lackluster 2nd half last year as well. Plenty of questions. We can hope that Gillis gets what we need in any Luongo deal. In that respect, yes, he is important. Actually, he's critical, to the success of this team "moving forward"

disisdayear
Good God, he's is even a worse dive artist than Kesler (if that's possible). NO!
nuck nit
Yes. That's exactly what I said... No I said Lapierre is not a second liner. Schroeder was drafted to be a top 6 player. If they're not going to at least give him a shot in that role, then they might as well dump him now. Quit wasting their time. He has spent 3 years in the AHL, either he's ready, or he's likely never going to be. Time to find that out.
CookieCrumbs
No more divers PLEASE! Having Kesler on the team is bad enough. If he can't stop flopping around like a fish out of water, then see ya later!
