Hudler and cervenka were unbelievable last game. As cervenka got more comfortable he started to initiate plays. And hudler had the puck glued to his stick. With a 3 day break/practices this team will only get sharper.

Johnny Gaudreau>any Casucks

Edler, Markstrom, Hansen, 2nd round pick 2014 to Islanders for Ryan Strome, 5th overall pick 2014

This is fairly even as well.

I still believe an Alberta team will make the playoffs this year, but it won't be Calgary. Sorry Flames fans.

Canucks blanked Colorado tonight, which means that Colorado will be desperate for a win tomorrow.

Flames better grab their sacks and get going, because I predict that game will be mean and ugly.

I have to agree with Mustapha. The Oil looks like the Alberta team that is going to push through to the play offs this season. Calgary has looked much better but the Oilers have leap frogged them because of poor Calgary management dating back to Sutter.
Who would you rather watch, Calgary or the Oil at this point.

Avs are going to be hungry after scoring 0 goals and being outplayed for the most part...

Cheering for the Flames in this game though.

Baertschi is out.

FLAMES F BAERTSCHI WEEK-TO-WEEK WITH HIP FLEXOR INJURY

Rookie forward Sven Baertschi will not be suiting up with the Calgary Flames for at least the next week.

The club announced on Thursday that the 20-year-old is week-to-week with a hip flexor injury that he suffered after falling in practice on Tuesday.

"I was skating and my left skate seemed to have caught a rut in the ice and my legs kind of went into a splits position," Baertschi told Calgary Flames.com. "I felt pain immediately and left the ice to have it checked. It's very disappointing to learn that it's a hip flexor injury that will keep me out of the line-up."

Baertschi, who has no points in four games this season, hopes to not be sidelined very long.

"I've started treatments and plan on working very hard at getting back to 100% as quickly as possible so I can help our team be successful and win games."

"At least a week" could be anything - hip flexor injuries are touch and go.

The Dion Phaneuf trade will come down as one of their worst trades in history. Yikes. What a mess.

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

4 Jonathan Drouin.

5 Jonathan Tavares

Iginla has 0 goals. if he doesn't start scoring and kipper doesn't start saving like he used to last few seasons, calgary is a done deal. I doubt they will make the playoffs which is hard truth since I am a flames fan but it's a reality. Let's go for Seth Jones flames :frantic:

Historically, trading with the Leafs has been disastrous for Calgary.

Remember Gary Leeman?

No one else does either :sadno:

Can't belive it was 3-3 for most of the 3rd period. Total implosion by Cgy there at the end. I was happy though. Didn't want a 3-point game between 2 NW division teams

This loss was completely on Kipper. Couldn't stop a beach ball tonight and has been quite dreadful from game 1 of the season. His footwork is atrocious right now and he is absolutely struggling with tracking the puck especially through traffic. I thought that save for a few defensive lapses, the team in front of him played quite well and minimized the number of quality scoring chances quite well. That plus 3 goals scored should have resulted in a win.

Kipper, get your head in the game! Here's hoping that Irving starts the next game so that Kipper can get some strong practices in before his next game rather than just running maintenance drills. He is easily their weak point right now by a WIDE margin and it is unacceptable.

Ehh, Kipper wasn't that bad. I have always thought that he was leaky without good D to help him out anyway. He is just suffering under a poorer defensive system, that's all.

Speaking of Flames goalies...

I always giggle a bit when Jiggy beats Calgary. They basically gave up on him so many years ago and unloaded him to Anaheim. Now look at what he's accomplished in his career. 2 Stanley Cup appearances, 1 championship AND a Conn Smythe - as the losing goaltender (INCREDIBLY hard to do)

Hudler-Stajan-Cervenka line looked great. Surprised they didn't get as many minutes. Kipper has been struggling, let in a few weak goals. I'm sure the adjustment to the new system isn't helping much. Also noticed jbo has been really flying out there and starting to look like he was in Florida.

Hitching all of your hopes on a 35-year-old winger and a 36 year-old goalie is not necessarily wise. Especially when the same guys couldn't get you in the playoffs the past few years, when they were younger.

If Kipper and Iggy make noticeable declines this season, Calgary will have blown two of their best chances for a quick rebuild.

Ray Emery has really grown up. He is nothing like that cocky, irresponsible young man that played for Ottawa and Philly.

He was nothing short of absolutely spectacular.

Emery's a UFA next year Flames fans....looks like he can play goal.

If an ownership/management group want to win, they why do the flames suck every year? Is it poor hockey knowledge? Poor decision making? Do they care? I would hate to be a player in the flames' organization.

That was pretty pathetic. No way in hell they should've lost that one, but there is just a complete lack of skill in Cowtown.

Slash 'n burn.
