with the shortened season I hope the all star game is cancelled... or will they really have it a week into the season?

and what about the trade deadline? will any of the dates change?

The All star was cancelled months ago.

Trade deadline will be later this year - but no date has been determined.

As a thanks to their loyal fans, the NHL has decided that the All Star Break will be re-scheduled in place of the Stanley Cup Playoffs..

OMG we could've had McKeown!

I think Virtanen was a terrible pick given that he's out for 6 months which will hinder his development. You don't pick someone at #6 under that circumstance, along with the fact that he was given a 3/5 IQ (aka he's dumb).

God dammit Benning. WHY VIRTANEN? Terrible move.

Down by the River - Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.

sorry dude, i wasnt going to keep updated with a league that has nothing but negotiations going on. i see you took the time to post another few thousand times... mustve been some really in depth discussion going on. (man its great to be back to CDC)

anyways, thanks for the answers. glad to hear we dont have to deal with an all-star game on top of all this. and yeah im assuming they will just keep the scheme of the trade deadline the same since the playoffs will still start on time

Yes, I have a few thousand posts except I've been on this forum for just about 10 years now...

Your questions are not rocket-science; it's called using common-sense.

No allstar game, expect trade deadline in early April. Just what I've heard from the guys on tv.

I'm pretty sure the trade deadline is supposed to be early April. And that the playoffs will start a bit late and end near the end of June.

oh okay, that shows how little I know.. so that means the games won't even be too condensed. end of june means that theyll start almost 2 weeks late so mid jan to mid/late april gives over 90 days.. make it 96 and thats a game every second day (on average). not bad...

Fixed that for you. Common sense is not that common.

Bob McKenzie thinks sometime in April (cant remember if he said first or last week) which makes sense. All-Star game is scratched.

It will still be condensed to the point where players will get tired a lot quicker, but yea, it won't be like 3 games in 3 nights kind of thing.

The last time we had a shortened season the trade deadline was April 7th. I would expect it to be about the same.

Agreed. The All-Star games I knew and loved were those where the SC champions faced off againts the best from the rest of the NHL, and they played an actual hockey game, with real body checks.

G.

You're really dating yourself there G. I've been watching hockey for a very long time and I can't remember when that switch was made. My earliest All-Star game memories were of Campbell Conference vs Wales Conference.

I'll never understand either side of the arguments people are having ITT.

First: true, 'Nuck could have googled this and found out about the ASG, it would have taken 3 seconds and that's just lazy. He also did start a discussion about the trade deadline though.

Second: 250integra, you're not wrong, you're just an asshole. Instead of getting into a petty argument you could have just told him without all the flak.

Whatever, this is the internet. Very serious business.
