[Proposal] VAN - TOR/FLA

Recommended Posts

I know the recent rumor is Frattin, Bozak and 2nd/Kadri and Bozak, but IMO, the best package coming our way would be a deal involving Grabovski or Weiss.

To TOR: Roberto Luongo, VAN 2013 3rd Round Pick

To VAN: Mikhail Grabovski, Matt Finn

or if a Florida deal is in the cards (unlikely but you never know until the deal is done),

To FLA: Stephen Weiss, Scott Clemmensen

To VAN: Roberto Luongo

TOR deal:

I think having Weiss with Booth would be a fantastic idea as well, with Booth- Weiss- Higgins we have our Florida Line instead of the American line :P I think it would be a good idea! I don't think we should trade for Clemmensen or Theodore, I think having the two older guys as back ups wouldn't be good because we could let Eddie Lack get some experience playing with the big kids. Well whatever the choice and whatever we get for trading Luongo will help out our team immensely!

I still think an elite winger is a bigger priority than a temporary center. Bozak is meh, grabo doesn't make any sense at all. Frattin would be nice but if the package is bozak, Frattin, and anything but a 1st i'm not going to be impressed. Frattin was scratched tonight from the Marlies game, no word on injury so...

Oh and for Florida, Lu for Kulikov straight up. Scariest defense in the league.

That is the whole point! We would have the best 3rd line center in the league.... this would be our center depth chart:

#1: H. Sedin (all-star center)

#2: Kesler (1st line center on most teams)

#3: Weiss (2nd line center on most teams)

#4 Lappy (3rd line center on most teams)

And we also have the best faceoff man on the planet playing wing on the 4th line and stepping in to take key draws.

I would absolutely love to get Weiss... I am pretty sure he was roomates with Booth in FLA as well

Bozak is a good third line centre but a pending UFA. I would love him. Grabovski signed an extension, is a good two way player who has had 3 40+ point seasons and will compete in all areas of the ice. Grabo makes sense. 5.5M is a little steep but I would love to have him.

Fratin is a risk, he will pan out and be a serviceable player.

A signed Kulikov for Luongo would not get the deal done, him and Gudbranson are the future cornerstones on the defense. Having Garrison gone for nothing does not help either.

I'm well aware of what bozak and grabo are, Bozak doesn't have the defensive game to play 3rd line center and doesn't have the offensive game to play 2nd line center on the Canucks so what happens when Kes comes back?. Sounds like AV's new Ballard. Grabo is great but when I say doesn't make sense I think of both teams, the Leafs are absolutely boned if they trade him. Frattin is a Gillis player that I like quite a bit, but you're right who knows what you'll get. It just makes sense to me to hear his name mentioned, the rest doesn't make sense especially this bozak rumor. Not good enough, needs to be much more than Frattin and a 2nd or 3rd coming our way.

The Kulikov thing is just my own personal fantasy, Florida has no reason to move him though they could and not lose a step. Unlike trading a forward, especially weiss who they'd miss dearly.
