Discussion about the music/DJ

Yeah I'm not a huge fan of the intro, sure it sounds better live but it doesn't get me pumped.

I've been to a couple Flames vs Canucks games in Calgary and having Marilyn Manson playing as their intro really got me pumped for the game. Something heavy that just gets the blood flowing.

If they do change it I'd love too see it changed to something along the lines of this:

Lyrics to the song:

Feel the fire he's entered the ring.

His mindset only knows how to win.

This Danish fighter will break you in two.

You will feel all his power.

The Viking warrior Mikkel Kessler will now brand his

name.

In the back of your head.

Yeah, you'll feel the floor again.

Unleashing his hell. you will not even hear the bell.

Maybe you're strong but you don't stand a chance.

Feel the power of the warrior.

Fight, fight, fight, fight.

Let's get ready to rumble.

Fight, fight, fight, fight.

Breaking your record and breaking your bones.

Born a warrior, with a code.

A champion feeding your face with a fist.

You will feel all his power.

The Viking warrior Mikkel Kessler will now brand his

name.

In the back of your head.

Yeah, you'll feel the floor again.

Unleashing his hell, you will not even hear the bell.

Maybe you're strong but you don't stand a chance.

Feel the power of a warrior.

Fight, fight, fight, fight.

Let's get ready to rumble.

Fight, fight, fight, fight

A gladiator's left hand hook.

Fight, fight, fight, fight

Feel the pain tomorrow.

Behold here comes the son.

Believe it, he was born to be the chosen one.

The call is for a warrior.

His name will echo on the sea and on the cloud.

Feel the fire he's entered the ring.

His mindset only knows how to win.

This Danish fighter will break you in two.

You will feel all his power.

The Viking warrior Mikkel Kessler will now brand his

name.

In the back of your head.

Yeah, you'll feel the floor again.

Unleashing his hell, you will not even hear the bell.

Maybe you're strong but you don't stand a chance.

Feel the power of a warrior.

Fight, fight, fight, fight.

Let's get ready to rumble.

Fight, fight, fight, fight.

A gladiator's left hand hook.

Fight, fight, fight, fight.

Feel the pain tomorrow.

Behold here comes the son.

Believe it, he was born to be the chosen one.

The call is for a warrior.

His name will echo on the sea and on the cloud.

Don't think that we should replace the U2 opening but I think Heart of Courage from Two Steps from Hell would be a good song for the intro on the videotron. Would be good for say the first game of the playoffs. Worked great at EURO 2012 but man imagine the atmosphere in Rogers if this was played.

Tradition of what? Losing? this opening has been associated with nothing but losing..

I went to game 2 of the cup finals, nothing but nervous anticipation then with U2 playing, and NO WHERE near as loud as other "big games" i've been to, then I went to game 7 and people could not have been more scared/nervous with that song opening the night, we were on our heels before the game even started....

blackhawks opening:

ahhhh yeaa... kinda gets you a little more pumped up then

I wannnaaaaaaa runnnnnnn and touch the rainnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

as great as that intro is, that's chicago's identity, not OURS. our identity is this song, it's what makes the Canucks the Canucks. in fact, just the other day, one of my friends who i didnt even know watched any hockey recognized "where the streets have no name" on the radio, and said to me "hey, isnt that the canucks song?" what other song could have that impact! Seriously, we've identified this song as the canucks song, so why would you want to replace it with any other heavy metal rock song that all the other teams use. Please DJ Dave, keep U2!!!

Leave U2 alone.

Change the goal song to one that doesn't suck. I think it probably irritates our team as much as it does the opposition.

Adjust the arena music to very little top 40 and much more rock. There aren't enough preteen girls in the audience to justify the current playlist.

Thank you.

Guess what else is an olympic sport.

Judo and Wrestling which are huge parts of MMA.

Freddie Roach is a boxing coach, who teaches MMA fighters including George "Rush" St.Pierre.

Boxing has clear cut screw jobs in title fights and can't even put on the one fight everyone wants to see.

Boxing - "We'll bite each others ears".

Honestly, does anyone actually get ANYTHING out of this opening song any more?

arguably the worst opening in the league from the ones i've seen in person/on TV

does the song instil anything but the vibe of "we are scared, unsure, pussies?"

if the team wasn't soft enough already we have Bono serenading our opponent doing anything but pumping up the team/crowd

GET RID OF U2!
