Finally, our full season schedule is here folks, the MOU has been signed, there is a CBA in principle and hockey is on!

HAHAHA 25 for 25 on compiled leaked dates, thank so much fellow posters for tossing in your dates. Much appreciated, and now we know. I like the strong finish 3in a row at home then a short flight to edmonton and back.

(*A mishmash of thoughts while we await a full schedule release*We have almost got half of them figured out...apparently full sched is coming in an hour..curious how close this list will be to the real deal?

With a condensed 48 game schedule it will be incredibly hard on teams that lose inside their division.

18 of Vancouvers games this short year will result in a division team gaining two points and a division team not gaining two points, but possibly still taking 1. These "four point swings" as they are often referred to are pivotal in a season where 30 other games are outside the division.

With the Canucks in mind, the div opponents of Calgary, Colorado, Minnesota and Edmonton matchups become ultra critical games, with each one being a swing of 4 points between the winner and the loser. We know that each of the 14 conference matchups will happen 3 times and then up to two more per division opponent...so how does the hasty schedule meet up with Vancouver's needs, as per Mike Gillis meetings last year with the league regarding travel fatigue biases. I am curious to know if the full sched will continue to help Vancouver make up for travel fatigue vs say the Rangers...Somehow I doubt it. More filled in as it comes. I was expecting Chicago matchups to be two games at either end of the same road trip for either Chicago or Vancouver in order to ease travel burdens. We now have the Oilers and the Wild tentative matchups in red...few more sources for the rest of the division? anyone?

Jan 19th Anaheim HOME

Jan 20th Edmonton HOME

Jan 28th LAKINGS

Feb 1 Chicago HOME

Feb 4th Edmonton AWAY

Feb 7th Wild AWAY

Feb 9th Calgary ?

Feb 12th Wild HOME

Tue Feb 19th Chicago AWAY

Fri Feb 22nd Nashville away

Sun Feb 24th Detroit AWAY

March 2nd LAK

March 10 Wild AWAY

March 14 Nashville HOME

March 18th Wild HOME

March 16th Detroit HOME

March 21 Coyotes AWAY

March 23 LA KINGS

March 30th Edmonton AWAY

April 4th Edmonton HOME

April 6th Calgary ???

April 15th Nashville AWAY

April 20th Detroit HOME

April 22th Chicago HOME

April 27th Edmonton AWAY

Safe to assume 7 games possibly 8 in January in total...reported that San Jose will have 8 back to back games in this shortened season, so 40 games in 3 months, which is totally doable for any team. Best guess is 13 in Feb, 15 in March and 12 in april, that is IF the league tries to keep up compensation for longer travel stretches.

With today’s overwhelming ratification of the memorandum of understanding by the NHLPA, the particulars of the long-delayed NHL season are slowly starting to come together. An advanced draft of the Edmonton Oilers’ 48-game schedule has been posted on HF Boards this afternoon. While subject to late tweaks, this version is consistent with earlier details that had begun to emerge, so for now let’s take it at face value and look at some of the specifics.

• The Oilers will not play on opening night, next Saturday, January 19. The complete lack of interlocking games between conferences effectively splits the NHL into two 15-team leagues, meaning a minimum of one team from each conference will always be idle even on the busiest days. Next Saturday that will be Edmonton in the west.

• The Oil thus play their 48 games in 98 days, virtually a game every other day.

• Edmonton opens in Vancouver next Sunday, and closes with a home game against those same Canucks on April 27.
