Tru_Knyte
I think we might be pleasantly surprised with Barker. Guy hasn't been surrounded with much depth since the Blackhawks and hasn't had a solid defensive system to play in. Should do well under AV if he's rotating in/out on the 3rd pairing. Double Vs
Thanks for posting Vintage. Cliche answers but still nice to hear from Cam, and I do like this signing.
Spoosh
This is a good signing. One that could pay off well. And even if it doesn't, it'll be depth and at the lowest possible price. No danger here. Way more interesting than Derek Joslin or someone similar.
TheCammer
Good depth signing. It's a clear indication that none of our Wolves D prospects are close to cracking the line-up. Could also be an indication that we may move a D-man in a trade before the season.
Jaku
I like it. I hope Cam has a great year with the Canucks. I hope it's beneficial to his game and a good life experience.
DeNiro
The Oilers and Wild fans that say Barker sucked, only say that cause they had high expectations of him. People see that he's a former 3rd overall pick right away and so they ovverrate him. Plus those teams D were so bad, they expected him to be a top 4 defenseman, which he's not. As a 7th or 8th D-man, he's a solid addition. He basically brings what Rome brought as far as grit, but he can move the puck a whole lot better. Still, don't expect him to be some sort of star player, cause he's not.
Berto91
Low risk, high reward. Surely a pretty win-win? Especially if he get's his old form back.
Pouria
And of course you cannot see how he performs until he is signed to a contract. But the reasons mentioned are justification for that contract.

Rypien37
Tanev is better than Barker defensively right now. Barker was just released from an AHL team because of his bad defensive plays. Lets see what he will do with his chance here before we put him on regular shifts and send Tanev down.
DeNiro
I would've liked to see him on a PTO first. A tryout before signing him to a contract but maybe he had other ideas.
MikeBossy
I have no issue with this signing. And I agree with those who have pointed out that Higgns and Lappy both had similar knocks against them when we acquired them. If Cam sits in the pressbox at 700k a year who cares - if he plays and plays at Rome's level even better. And IF (Big IF) he manages to find his former game again then he becomes a real steal. CB007
This is a typical aquisition for the Nux of late... Higgins and Lapierre were in the same boat, but have managed to find a way to contribute. Booth was also trending downwards. (He has this season to prove his worth) This is likley his last stop in the league for Barker, should he be unable to find a productive role, and at 700,000, its really not much of a gamble, and he could always be a decent addition to the Wolves should he be placed on waivers. CRAZY_4_NAZZY
He hopefully can take away some offensive stress from guys like Bieksa and Edler. Eddy and Juice really looked like they ran out of gas last years playoffs and with the additions of Garrison and Barker will take away some the of the pressure and relieve them of a few more minutes to help keep them fresh. Nice signing.

-AJ-
Good depth signing. Given our luck with injuries on the back end, this is a bit comforting. Rome replacement perhaps?
70seven
Lapierre was a playoff hero in 2009-10 for the Habs for his role in checking Ovechkin and co. Higgins has always been alright. Booth returned from serious concussion and played well enough for Panthers to keep his top 6 spot on the team. Barker on the other hand, was cut by an AHL affiliate of an NHL team that couldn't make the playoffs for the last few years. There is no comparison.
