Dave Molinari@MolinariPG
@TSNBobMcKenzie reports Penguins have put LW Steve MacIntyre + goalies Brad Thiessen and Jeff Zatkoff on waivers, presumably to keep in W-B.

David Strehle@David_Strehle
Former Flyers D prospect Nate Guenin (ANA) among those placed on waivers today, according to TSN Bob McKenzie's list.

Bob McKenzie@TSNBobMcKenzie
CBJ: R Russell, N Drazenovic. MTL: C Desjardins. Alain Berger on $125 waivers presumably for purposes of mutual contract termination.

The Predatorial@ThePredatorial
Predators defenseman Mike Moore on waivers per @TSNBobMcKenzie (remember him? Signed him in July)

Aaron Portzline@Aportzline
#CBJ Fs Cody Bass, Nick Drazenovic, Andrew Joudrey and Ryan Russell on waivers. Per new CBA they had to be exposed to remain active in AHL.

Cody Bass is pretty decent with his mitts and he kills penalties, would be worth a look on 4th line.

They have Price. He isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Cody Bass is probably the only one with a shot at getting claimed..... MAYBE Big Mac if a team really thinks they need a complete goon.

You still need to have depth at every position.

That would be amazing! If we have him on the team, I wouldn't mind all the Raymonds and Tanev that we have on the team! One big Mac makes our team looks so much bigger and tougher!

We don't need MacIntyre running around like a goon and taking dumb penalties. Not how our team is built.

No one is willing to fight Mac anymore, he has all of 2 fights this year in the AHL. Destroyed the opponent both times.

But as a certain Finance major once said - and I am heavily paraphrasing here - you skate around the big guy and score on him whenever he's on the ice.

There's practically no room for one dimensional 'hockey players' let alone players that don't do much other than take up cap space.

Bob McKenzie@TSNBobMcKenzie
Today's waivers: E Oberg (TB). G Desbiens, P Mullen (VAN). S Legein, D Meckler, M-A Cliche, T Hickey (LAK). J Pearce, F Pare (DET).

Bob McKenzie@TSNBobMcKenzie
F Wathier, M Fortunas, L Gazdic, T Morin, T Petersen, T Sloan (DAL). S Backman, N McIver, M Watkins, T Wishart (NYI).

One of note would be Hickey, but I doubt he would be able to crack the Canucks defense. He could crack some lineups though.

Hickey would be a good pick up for any team. Former World Junior captain and 4th overall pick.
Get him on your farm team and who knows.

Wishart or Hickey might be worth a gamble for some team. Both are fairly young former 1st round pick D who have played alright in the AHL, with Wishart having some unspectacular time in the NHL.
I think both could develop a bit more and be bottom 6 guys.

Think Islanders claimed another D -- Thomas Hickey from LA

Good claim for them. He should help out nicely, and in a few years they could have a defense featuring:

Hamonic - de Haan
Reinhart - Hickey

Darren Dreger@DarrenDreger
Waivers: Nsh claimed Rich Clune from LA; NYI claimed Thomas Hickey from LA.

I wouldn't mind giving Pat Maroon a shot. 6'4, 225 lbs, physical, averaged a ppg in the AHL and is still fairly young at 24. The fact he has played 4 pro seasons and has only dressed for 2 NHL games is a bit discouraging, and I have heard he has issues with skating.

Here is a good article about Maroon:

http://blog.syracuse...oon_can_be.html

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Higgins Lapierre Hansen
Raymond Malhotra Weise
Maroon Schroeder Kassian

Haha cringeworthy forward lineup without Kes and Booth
