Jägermeister
Wishart or Hickey might be worth a gamble for some team. Both are fairly young former 1st round pick D who have played alright in the AHL, with Wishart having some unspectacular time in the NHL. I think both could develop a bit more and be bottom 6 guys. MarchandSucks
I feel bad for Hickey. I knew him back in Seattle, great guy. Definitely thought he was gonna make it, had all the tools back then

Lonny_Bohonos_14
Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC Think Islanders claimed another D -- Thomas Hickey from LA Good claim for them. He should help out nicely, and in a few years they could have a defense featuring: Hamonic - de Haan Reinhart - Hickey Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger Waivers: Nsh claimed Rich Clune from LA; NYI claimed Thomas Hickey from LA. canucklehead44
I wouldn't mind giving Pat Maroon a shot. 6'4, 225 lbs, physical, averaged a ppg in the AHL and is still fairly young at 24. The fact he has played 4 pro seasons and has only dressed for 2 NHL games is a bit discouraging, and I have heard he has issues with skating. Here is a good article about Maroon: http://blog.syracuse...oon_can_be.html Sedin Sedin Burrows Higgins Lapierre Hansen Raymond Malhotra Weise Maroon Schroeder Kassian Haha cringeworthy forward lineup without Kes and Booth

Drop Em
I'd like to see the Canucks go after Luke Gazdic. A young, big, tough kid who has some decent hockey skills and knows his role and will defend his teamates at all costs and who can be groomed to be a serviceable fourth line player. Doubt it will happen but I'd rather have a young guy like Gazdic around than a guy like Desbiens who's older and isn't going to get any better. Winnipeg just picked up a very similar player in Peluso and they lack team toughness just like the Canucks.
