Lonny_Bohonos_14
David Pagnotta @TheFourthPeriod With Zajac getting an 8-year, $46M contract... Subban's asking price doesn't seem that wild, now, does it? 5.75 isn't a bad deal for their #1 centre.

UFCanuck
He was injured most of last season. But I think that is a slight over-payment, but not too bad. $5M flat would have been ideal.

Aladeen
Zajac is a good player - Probably overpayment for what he has done in the past at a reasonable price - rather than just paying for what they hope he will do.
Lonny_Bohonos_14
And I think Subban is asking for too much. Zajac got paid, but for his production it's a little pricey. Both he and Subban are big pieces of their team, but that still seems like a lot considering Zajac's deal will give him job security until he's 35. Hobble
Hoped he would hit free agency and sign in Winnipeg Congrats Zajac!
elvis15
I think Zajac could have held out for more on the FA market. He probably could have gotten 6 per. So it's a bit of a deal. NJ also didn't really have any leverage against him. After losing Parise, they HAD to lock him up.
Captain Aerosex
Overpayment by at least a million, IMO.
Sidney Crosby.
I find it interesting the owners pushed so hard during the lockout to limit amount of years in a players contract, and piss away half a season for it, then the first major resigning is a 8 year contract?! Heretic
8 years? What happened to the max of 6 or 7 the owners were asking for in the CBA? I guess they had to concede that point to the players as well....

Tr4ilerP4rk
Oh my - what a crazy deal. He definitely benefits from Parise leaving town. We lost half a season for absolutely nothing. This league and its owners are a bunch of morons. No way should Zajac receive this kind of money when he is 35 years old. He will be one of those players that gets "accelerated buy out" seriously ppl, these owners are totally insane and need major therapy and medication to help them stop hurting themselves.
