oldnews
Agree with Nonis on this one. To say that Lombardi was a disappointment there would be a really nice way of putting it. No point in prolonging it.
Sergei Shirokov
Lombardi was a cap dump from nashville. Dont think anyone was expecting much. Players sure do fail in toronto. it s like a black hole.
vcr1970
Wow, Lombardi's talent was constantly made fun while he was a leaf. Now he's traded to another team and its a great deal for them? Please, please tell me that none of you who posted such insanity are ever going into politics or vote, for fear of being eligible for jury duty. Your opinions and beliefs are so biased its unbelievable really.
theminister
You know, I'd actually be interested to see Crosby go to TO just to see how much he could suck there.
elvis15
Hmm, Fistric gets a 3rd, Lombardi gets a 4th, what can we get for Ballard?

Patrick Kane
You guys realized this guy played for Phoenix before and thrived? Thus landing him his fat contract with Nashville, but injuries prevented him from doing anything. He would of been perfect with Nashville... James van Riemsdyk
Hmm, hopefully he can do well in Phoenix, they surely came out on top on this deal for a 3rd pick at best to the Leafs. Well at least the got rid of a lot of salary. I hope Phoenix gets back into things, they lost out with Ray Whitney went to Dallas. Best of wishes to Lombardi in Phoenix. bd71
It looks to me like Nonis is setting this up as a rebuilding year. I would bet that he is pretty much out of the Luongo sweepstakes. I think they are going to go young and try a real rebuild this time. Not going to help the Luongo trade market. Good move for both teams really. Phoenix doesn't give up much and get some salary help and Toronto gets rid of someone who was ineffective for a draft pick.
Primal Optimist
Good deal for both teams AND the player. Curious along with TheMinister as to how the salary splits will work. So TO keeps half a mill in signing bonus...one would imagine the million dollar signing bonus in all three years of the deal upped his cap hit in all three years by a million, so with this being his final year, if TO is keeping 500k of that signing bonus on their books, then the overall cap hit of 3.5 is now only 3m for Phoenix. http://www.capgeek.com/player/1128

MoneypuckOverlord
Nonis is starting the hard process of rebuilding the team. Poor guy. Something that should have been started 4 and a half years ago.
