Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday that President Barack Obama’s announcement of gun control reform was “the children-as-human-shields show,” criticizing Obama for speaking onstage with children.

“I’ve been watching the children-as-human-shields show that is now going on at the White House. Boy, these guys are somber,” the Conservative commentator said on his radio program, according to a show transcript.

Obama announced the gun reforms and was joined by gun violence survivors and children who had written to him following the Dec. 14 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., where 20 kids and six others were shot and killed.

Obama read some of their letters at the press conference, causing Limbaugh to poke fun at him on his show.

“Yeah! Kids cheer and the president starts out reading some letters from the kids. Gotta do what the kids want. Gotta answer all their letters to Santa Claus. Gotta do everything they want,” Limbaugh said, according to the transcript. “It’s stunning. You look at the what’s happening in the country.”

Limbaugh also defended the NRA video that criticizes Obama for being skeptical about placing an armed guard in every American school — as the NRA has recommended — when his daughters have armed Secret Service protection.

“Well, in fact, I don’t see the president’s kids in danger. I don’t see the president’s kids going to Sandy Hook elementary. I don’t see the president’s kids living in Chicago. Other people’s kids do. And they love them just as much. And they want to protect them just as much,” Limbaugh said.

He continued: “So now the NRA ad calling the president a hypocrite by trying to deny parents the same thing he provides his kids has got these pundits all upset.”

Rush is paid to say a bunch of extreme things to get attention -- any attention, bad or good, is good for him. You'd think people would have learned by now not to give it the attention it wants. Of course, the big mouth pundits who make it their job to respond to him are no different.

Although I have no interest in American Political anything, just wanted to post because the title of this thread is very misleading... While I see a lot of Limbaugh nonsense I am not sure where he is "mocking" kids. He is definitely mocking Obama and co. but not sure where he is outright mocking any children.

Limbaugh is capable of hurricane-force winds every time he opens his blowhole...I strongly suspect he had a lot to do with the one that hit the RNC this past election year...the guy's so stuffed full of oxycontin and viagra he never knows whether he's coming or going quite often...tied with Sean Hannity in my books for the single biggest GOPtard propagandist that ever opened their mouths in the media. By far.
