From PHT: If he isn’t claimed for free, the Leafs could try to trade him while offering to retain part of his salary (up to 50 percent, per the new CBA) as an inducement. His contract is up after this season and we don't really have anything better for our 2nd line as it is right now. And who knows , maybe he stays healthy and gels with kesler once he's back. I'd take the risk.. Also I wish they would trade Lou already. Thus isn't a good sign as Toronto was supposedly in the front to land him.
