Why you hate Hansen I will never know. He's a teams perfect third liner.
  • 1

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Meh, Hansen isn't an offensive sieve; he can hold his own. Aside from that, he doesn't stop skating, can press a good forecheck, and isn't afraid of going into those 'dirty areas.' That's nice to have if he's going to be playing with the Sedins.

Give it a shot, there's no reason not to -- especially considering how abysmal the Canucks' Powerplay was last season.

Spoiler

Hansen has zero power play goals. Why oh WHY is AV slotting him into the first power play unit?!?!

Just let him kill penalties and play his 3rd-line role.... the first few games they usually give out Power Plays like candy to remind players what they can and cannot do. We'll be shooting ourselves in the foot by having him out there....

http://www.sportsnet...p_update_jan16/

(Cue the Hansen puck bunnies to his rescue...)

He may have zero player play goals, but he's only had about 6 minutes of power play time in his career so...

But seriously you are either a troll or just a MASSIVE, irrational hate on for Hansen.

Hansen has AMAZING instinct and knows where to go. The only bad thing is, he has like the worst shot ever. On a team full of people that can't lift the puck, he's probably the guy that would get teased by everyone else for it.

Last year or the year before when he was promoted to the second line for awhile, and even a bit on the first for random shifts, he got so many good chances. He just has to work on his finish.

Pay no mind to this thread, Slegr is the one who started the other Hansen-hate thread. This guy hates on Hansen at every opportunity.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain, I am the great and terrible OZ.

Sedin, Sedin, Edler and Garrison.

Hansen won't be the determining factor...

Eventually kesler too. We have a killer powerplay which has won us many games in the past. The problem comes in the playoffs when the refs tend to completely change their rule books and let most things go

The problems with our powerplay were abundant throughout most of last year's regular season, not just the playoffs.

It's not as simple as 'if we get more opportunities there won't be a problem,' our powerplay hasn't been up to snuff in recent memory.

To the OP,

First off, did this really need its own thread? You could have just posted this in your other one.

Secondly, the Sedins went to AV with this (as has been mentioned before). I'm going to assume that the Sedins know a bit more about hockey than you do. If they think it's a good idea I'm gonna go ahead and defer to their combined 2 Art Ross, 1 Hart Trophy and 1 Ted Lindsay Award.

Of course, I am aware that this makes me a "Hansen Puck Bunny".

Kesler was lucky to score 20 this year since the injury to Morrison allowed him to do so.

I doubt Kesler would ever break 15 goals in his career again.

So Hansen had 11 seconds of PP time last season.

Do the words "Insufficient sample size" come to mind anyone? Will he work on the first unit PP? Truth is that no one knows for sure because he hasn't done it. He may do brilliantly or he may do terribly - or even something in between. It's really hard to get a good look at someone when they didn't even play a single full shift with the man advantage last year.

And I would have got away with it too, if it wasn't for you meddling Hansen lovers.

But seriously... Hansen? On the PP with the Sedins?? The power play is still stacked with everyone else, but when you've got pee in the pool, it still gets on everyone.

Again, the Sedins themselves asked AV to try him on their PP.

When two Art Ross winners say to their coach, "We think this guy would work well on our PP unit" only an idiot of a coach wouldn't listen.

Haha, not really. I was just remembering back to when I was new here we had a disagreement about something in a thread but it was pretty civil.

How do you get a PP goal? By playing on the PP.

Simmer down, young grasshopper. Wait and see before criticizing

Well said!!! Our PP will be just fine as long as Bieksa's not on the ice - giving up another S.H. goal! Let;s start things off on a positive note!

ive never understood taking apart the top line for power play leave burrows on it with the sedins . its terrible when u need to juggle your lines for a couple shifts after a power play to get them in order again . leave burrows on PP1 and leave them on for most of it and when the PP is over your lines wont be messed up. keep it simple top 2 lines run the PP bottom 2 should run PK it wears our guys out playing top guys like burs and kes on the PK . its over coaching keep it simple.

Then I would suggest you don't know hockey. It's not over-coaching, it's coaching. This isn't Atom House were you roll your lines. Killing penalties is just as important as the PP so you use the players that are best at it. Therefore AV and the coaching staff protect Burrows minutes.

With all that said if Hansen doesn't work in the short term I wouldn't be adverse to Burrows getting more PP time and challenge someone else to step up on the PK.

1. He has speed and is great at picking up loose pucks
2. Gritty enough to get garbage goals
3. Right handed shot
4. Underrated playmaker

One of the few bright spots last night. I think he will be fine as a fill-in.

When you post your little lame hash tag line in every single thread you are posting in a thread that should not have been created in the first place. As far as I am concerned you are engaging in criminal behaviour.

If you have a serious issue go tell a mod.

Otherwise you are just a vegan with wool sox on.
