Voted "don't care". But they do bring a little entertainment to Rogers Arena, I'll give them that. Its pretty quiet in there. Went to my first game against the Lames Sept 26, and man was it dead unless we scored. Some people sitting behind us kept talking and didn't even care about the game. Also our section tried to get the wave started but only got like 1/4 of the arena to do it. Pathetic.

Preseason games tend to have people who got free tickets. That said, it's preseason action too so there is nothing be overly excited about.

It's Vancouver, people here are too cool for The Wave. Though it would be nice for something new. I was at OSU college game and the whole stadium was split into 3 sections, 2 sidelines and the end zones. Each section would have a letter. Sideline 1 chants O, endzones chant S and sideline 2 chanted U. Then they just repeated it a few times. EVERYONE participated. Something like that would be great.

I heard from one of the Green men on the radio the other day. I think they plan to attend 4 games this season, that's it.

It's just greenwashing.

Instead of trying so hard I'd laugh more if they had 1 good gag a night, and just sat there like idiots the rest of the time. Truth is though, I burst a few times, notably, the handstand, the Emilio, and the massive junk thrust.

Mostly, they do nothing for me.

edit: responding to threads where the OP has been banned is rather amusing to me.

This connects to the other thread about ticket prices etc. If more blue collar fans could get to the games I think the atmosphere would be better, however the green men serve a purpose. That being said, I like it when their appearances are spread apart. Too many apperances in a row gets a bit too much sometimes.

Getting old...me?....Oh

No. in this overly produced corporate atmosphere, anything original and homebred is a breath of fresh air IMO.

The problem is that while the networks used to linger the camera on them by the penalty box, it seems like they have gotten The Word and now you only see a flash when someone goes to the box. Sometimes they are just standing up to perform something and the camera quickly cuts out. I'll bet they practice a routine for games they are there for and don't ever get a chance to show it anymore. So if people don't see anything new, they write them off.

Unfortunately it's like this during the season as well.. not as bad usually, but still very common to find fairweather people that just take up space

They don't cheer, they don't support the team, they don't even talk hockey.. they just shoot the chit as if they were at a pub and end up watching maybe one period of three.

I don't get it.
